Business Development Associate

Role

Develop ticket sales partnerships with private bus travel operators

Responsibilities

• Find, research, qualify and convert leads
• Identify and contact relevant decision makers in the partner organizations
• Introduce Busbud to partners: company, mission, site, features, and audience
• Explain Busbud's value proposition and how partners can sell tickets on Busbud
• Gather feedback from partners, answer objections and negotiate solutions to problems
• Get partners excited about Busbud and encourage them to spread the word

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
• Sales experience
• Very strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities
• Friendly yet concise telephone manner
• Ability to work with deadlines and targets in results-driven environment
• Passion for international travel

Desirable

• Sales experience in the travel industry
• Knowledge or contacts in the bus industry
• Proficiency in multiple languages
• Previous startup experience
• Bilingual (English/French)

Compensation

• Hourly salary and commission based on experience

Location

Data Integration Developer

Role

Automatize the data integration workflow

Responsibilities

• Improve automated tools that transform any bus schedule to a machine readable format
• Facilitate the integration of our partners' bus schedules
• Supervise the quality control process

Requirements

• Knowledge of machine learning and pattern recognition techniques
• Knowledge of HTML, jQuery, CSS, Javascript

Desirable

• Knowledge of Python
• Previous startup experience
• Bilingual (English/French)

Front-end/UI Developer

Role

Build and improve Busbud apps' user interfaces on the web

Responsibilities

• Develop elegant and responsive web interfaces based on mockups
• Expect to write clear, maintainable code, concise design docs, and resilient tests

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, AJAX and Javascript with jQuery
• Degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent experience
• Strong passion for user experience

Desirable

• Knowledge of Node.js, Express, Jade
• Design skills
• Mobile UI development skills
• Experience working on cross-browser platforms
• Previous startup experience
• Bilingual (English/French)

Mobile Developer

Role

Build and improve Busbud's mobile applications (iOS, Android and mobile web)

Responsibilities

• Build complete mobile applications on various platforms from hi-fidelity mockups
• Create intuitive, effortless and responsive experiences for the user
• Implement data-driven interfaces using APIs and databases
• Develop new approaches to complex design problems
• Expect to write clear, maintainable code, concise design docs, and resilient tests

Requirements

• Degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in building products for the mobile ecosystem
• Experience using third party libraries for iOS and Android

Desirable

• Strong UX skills
• Experience working with clients in the travel industry
• Personal projects that show an aptitude for engineering and product sense
• Previous startup experience
• Bilingual (English/French)
