When planning for a trip, traditional information resources like guides and magazines are always a good start. But the best way to find great insights and well kept secrets about your destination is to checkout what locals, expats and travelers who actually know the city differently have to say about it
The blog, created by Colleen Geske, a Canadian expat living the Dutch lifestyle in Amsterdam, is an awesome resource of all you need to know about the dutch cultural specificity. The blog deals with stereotypes with a sassy and humorous tone, making it a really funny way to get more familiar with people and habits before you reach to the city. It was really hard to choose which posts we like most, so here are two examples: Sinterklaas, and for the linguistics: Speaking in expressions. But seriously, you should read them all, they’re hilarious!

Hope you'll check out and comment on my posts at Unclogged in Amsterdam: An American Expat Plumbs Holland (www.uncloggedblog.com).
For a small business conference, we had to go for two weeks to Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I have to say that this was one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had!! It is a beautiful city for many reasons. The people were really nice and kind.
We needed on the last minute a bus for rent for a group of 20 people. Because at the last minute, our transportation got cancelled, literally 5 days before we had to travel, it looked impossible to find any transport in so less of a time and that’s reliable and affordable at the same time. Last minute I was told by a Dutch friend to visit this website called "www.buslead.nl". There I made a bus enquiry completely for free in a few minutes and in less than 45 minutes, I received many replies back from different bus companies with different price offers (I made the enquiry completely free) from all over Amsterdam. We needed the bus to go to our hotel and to Amsterdam Rai (the website seems to be for the whole NL). At the end, I had many options to choose from, it was completely for free and they were super responsive and nice on this website. Besides this amazing treatment, I had a great time in Amsterdam.
I hope this will help someone else and encourage you to go to Amsterdam as well!!

I absolutely adore Amsterdamian, the Amsterdam Artistic Lifestyle blogger! Their passion for art and graffiti in Amsterdam and all of Holland is infectious. I find myself constantly scrolling through their posts, admiring the stunning paintings and street art. They truly have an eye for the beauty that surrounds us (and Amsterdam, obviously.)
