Spring Break. It’s not often two simple words can make someone feel such joy and relief. But let’s be honest, by the time that late-March or April week rolls around, you are probably exhausted and in need of a recharge before finishing off the semester strong!

For some people, that recharge means doing absolutely nothing at home or on a remote beach somewhere. But for others, that means taking in the natural beauty of the great outdoors or even going out and having the craziest parties of your life… seven days in a row. And for the rest, how about visiting a brand new city and joining the urban lovers? Well, at Busbud, we’ve gone ahead and created four Spring Break personas and matching destinations that can help you figure out what to do and where to do it.

The Lazy Bee

For the lazy bee, we have selected three destinations that hit two important points; affordable and beautiful. Staying home is an option if you really want to relax, but what if we told you that you could have the same “relaxing”, but with a beautiful beach instead? Interested? Thought so!

Kennebunkport in Maine: Try saying that five times fast. Can’t? Yeah, neither can we. Regardless of the long name, this beach is is synonymous with vacationing politicians and lobster. It’s also a haven for those seeking some rest and relaxation, as its beaches are known for being peaceful and having miles of sand and views!

Daytona Beach in Florida: If you want something more crowded and alive (maybe you want to relax but meet your Spring Break crush as well) there’s always the awesome Daytona Beach in Florida. Daytona is an iconic beach known for having plenty of fish in the sea, if you know what we mean. With hundreds of restaurants, Daytona Beach will give you the ultimate seafood and suntan fix.

Myrtle Beach in South Carolina: If you want something similar to Daytona Beach but is the hub of the Grand Strand, a 60-mile string of beaches and amazing golf courses, arcades, etc.

The Urban Lover

Lots of factors go into making a great cultural city. Excellent art galleries, museums and nightlife are just the tip of the iceberg. Then there’s venues for theater and music of all types, from symphony halls to jazz clubs. A few literary connections are helpful too, and some awesome cuisine.

New York City: It’s obvious that the cultural capital of America and one of the great cultural cities of the world is the city that never sleeps. For musicals and theater head to Broadway or check out the smaller off-Broadway venues. New York is the home of modern art with hundreds of galleries to see.

Chicago, Illinois: Besides its buzzing dining scene, Chicago has plenty of other draws: beaches, ballparks, breweries, comedy clubs, museums, and music festivals. The city’s cultural offerings are second to none, and its arts scene is easily the most beautiful and innovative in the country.

New Orleans, Louisiana: Eternally-youthful and always a party, New Orleans offers the perfect balance of beautiful architecture, great food and a guaranteed good time. You can visit the picturesque French Quarter, hang out in the revitalized Arts District and sample Cajun and Creole delicacies. And, of course, you can’t beat the nightlife.

The Social Animal

You don’t have to travel far in America to find a good nightlife destination. The United States’ vibrant cities offer everything from dive bars to hotel lounges to trendy dance clubs. But some locales cater to night owls better than others.

Las Vegas, Nevada: Las Vegas has earned its reputation as America’s adventure-land for good reason. Some of the world’s most amazing nightclubs reside in the city’s strips. DJs from around the world treat Sin City visitors to beats all night long. If you’re a social animal, Las Vegas may be where you find your soulmate.

Miami Beach, Florida: Miami Beach’s party scene starts early in the morning but is said to heat up even more (is that possible?) after dark. The chic South Beach is notorious around the world for its deafening dance clubs and posh hotel lounges. People everywhere, great weather, beaches and nightlife. Is this social animal paradise? Yes.

Nashville, Tennessee:  If you’re fed up of DJs and techno, why not head over to Music City where you can get the world’s best Country Music?! If you love country music or want to try it out, this is the right city. Luckily, that’s not Nashville’s only specialty: More and more live music venues are popping up – and not all of them cater to country music fans. You may have to look a little harder, but you can find whatever suits your music taste. Music, great drinks and a beautiful city, sounds like a pretty great Spring Break.

The Forever Adventurer

Maybe beaches, partying and museums aren’t your cup of tea. That’s definitely okay. Maybe you prefer using Spring Break to hike, visit nature and just soak it all in (sun included). The good news: There is no lack of near-perfect destinations around the U.S. in which to do just that. Check out these destinations for the perfect getaway.

Angels Landing, Utah: Angels Landing is one of the world’s most renowned hikes, and is an unforgettable short adventure hike worthy of all bucket lists. The views of Zion Canyon’s 270 million-year-old rock layers will time travel you back to the Triassic period. Perfect location for the adventure lover.

Yosemite, California: Not just an Apple operating system and famous desktop wallpaper, Yosemite National Park features Instagram worthy mountains, meadows, massive sequoia trees and plenty of waterfalls. Opportunities to hike, bike and horseback ride draw outdoor enthusiasts from across the country and definitely makes it a great Spring Break location.

Eugene, Oregon: The Pacific Northwest is known for its scenic hiking trails and easy access to natural wonders, including waterfalls, hot springs, lakes, rivers, sandy beaches and panoramic views. Eugene Oregon gives you two things: the small town feel and a dozen of possible hiking trails for all levels, giving you the best of both worlds.
