Omnibus Project: 2021 Q4 Results

In April 2017, we launched our diversity initiative, the Omnibus Project, to promote diversity at Busbud and beyond. Every quarter, our team carries out up to 5 actions to help foster diversity and in turn reports publicly on our progress.

We are thrilled to share the results for Q4 2021, ending December 31th!

For this quarter, the team has worked on a big toy drive project led by our CMO, Richard. With the help of Maison Battat, WowWee, Mattel Toys and Red Planet Group, we managed to raise 25,000 toys that were donated to Sun Youth Organization and Moisson Montreal. We want to thank everyone that made it possible for all those kids to get a Christmas gift this year.

Here’s a few words from Richard about this great initiative:

“I run the Toy drive every year because I care about all people; Not just my family and friends, but strangers too.

I love to help others in any capacity, personal growth, professional development, or donations. I think selfishly the feeling I get by giving to others is so rewarding, it is almost addictive. So I can’t stop and I actually feel the need to do more each year.

People sometimes ask me why toys, why not food, clothes or money. I think it comes down to my childhood experiences. I had a great childhood, I have three older sisters and a younger brother. We loved to play together and playing sometimes requires toys. So when I can help donate a toy to me it equals a smile, a moment of joy in a child’s life. Moreover the families that need these toys need the help because they cant afford it. The mental burden of buying toys as a mother or father who can barely afford rent weighs heavily as they want to give the children that joy knowing that the cost of the toy means less money for other important parts of their lives. So it becomes more than just a joy for the child but a relief for the parents or guardian.”
