The second bus from Covilhã to Fundao arrived 30 min late. The first bus from Aveiro the driver was rude with a passenger because she was in seat number 1
Due to a software overbooking issue, I had a ticket with seat number above 60 and since I don't know Portuguese language I didn't understand what the bus driver was saying about the overbooking problem..the bus arrival was delayed around 45 minutes and that was unacceptable..with no break in the trip I was going to lose consciousness because I needed something to eat for my blood suger level. Honestly I was shocked how they solved the overbooking problem with one hour delay, so for me it was like solving a problem with another additional problem.
I'm a US citizen and have little ability with Portuguese. It was virtually impossible for me to communicate with the drivers. When I went to the office regarding my ticket, which I was unable to print, the woman at the counter did help me to get my ticket but her attitude was not pleasant at all.
It would be good to have some punctuality with the departure time. I had to catch a flight and had to rush in order to make it in time due to the bus departing over 25minutes later than planned.
I needed to pee but the toilet on the bus was locked, to my surprise. Why?? And if this is a Covid measure please explain why barely anyone on the bus was wearing masks and nothing done about it.
Finding the bus station in Lisbon is a challenge without clear directions from the Metro. The staff at the ticket counter in Sete Rios were extremely rude; the female one shouted at me and the male one very reluctantly answered the questions. When arrived at Castelo Branco, the luggage compartment couldn’t be opened for a while that caused me missing my appointment with my AirBnB host. The bus driver was very good and the low rating has nothing to do with him.
I should have chance the bus for going to Aveiro but they didnt say in English and I couldnt understand and I went to another city. And at the begining they checked the tickets and we talked English so they should have said before.
In general I liked the bus and service. I do have a concern about the lack of precautions and cleanliness and sitting me next to a stranger ( I observed at least one othet problematic instance of this). At least one of your competitors is much more conscious of this.
We expected more comfortable seats. There was very little space. Also no way of charging phone/devices which we thought would be available. Also we feel that water and a few snacks should have been available to purchase.
The departure boards at Coimbra were not working. The bus finally rolled up 10 minutes late and there was then another wait if 10 minutes before the driver reappeared. This meant that we very nearly missed the connection at Lisboa Sette Rios. That bus departed almost on time.
The driver was rude.. He drove so so so very fast... There was no toilet on the bus and he made no stops until albuferia, I went to the toilet then and he left without me, all my belongings on the bus. I had to get a taxi to lagos to try and catch up with him. 90euro. All my money.
A very convenient way to overcome this distance. All the way I spent in comfort. I like the fact that inside there is a toilet, wifi, only a few stops in other cities what makes the way faster and good thermoregulation. The only thing I didn’t like was the pay cost for a toilet. I ran into the problem that I did not have cash, so I had to run to the one at the bus station at one of the stops. At the same time, I stressed that I could not return to the bus at time. I think payment for the toilet can be added to the ticket price and make it free for use on the bus. But overall I am satisfied with the service.
The problem I have is with the bus terminal. There is no information on where the bus leaves from. There is information on trains but not buses. Give yourself plenty of time.
The bus arrived more or less on time, but then stayed in the bus station for around 20 minutes. The staff didn't explain why or apologise for the delay. It also concerned me because they had the luggage compartment open while sitting there, perhaps increasing the chance of luggage theft.
