The bus come from Salta so it was 3h late so best not to use this service San Pedro de atacama to antafagasta.
We didn’t get to Atacama, the bus couldn’t pass the border and the company didn’t pay accommodation for at least two days I have to stay in Argentina (basically without money, because I only had Argentinean money for the days I planned to stay in Argentina)
I am so appreciative of my experience. The bus drivers were kind, helpful, efficient, and ensured our safety. The bus was very comfortable. Lots of good movies and beautiful scenery. I would absolutely book with Pullman Bus again. Highly recommend
The connection we booked did not exist - the driver was not helpful and the office could only tell us to wait until the next day - we had to get a Hotel
Every other service we have used in South America has offered food for long hours trips (eg. This one was 15 hours and went through both dinner and breakfast hours). We were quite surprised and really very hungry after this trip because food wasn’t included. This needs to be made clear on the Pullman option
Terrible experience. On top of arriving late at destination the bus stunk. Everytime someone and to the bathroom staff had to use air freshener. Both smells were overpower. Snacks were substandard. I would never this company again not would I make a recommendation.
The entire bus smelled like the worst public restroom you've ever been in. They only turned the AC on for maybe two total hours during a 12 hour trip. There was no food/snacks, no charging ports, and no WiFi. The seats were comfy enough and reclined a good distance, but the heat and smell made it a miserable trip.
Bus picked me up 3 hours late. It then dropped me off 1 hour and 15 mins late. For a total of 4 hours and 15 mins. No explanation. Bus was gross, bathroom had no paper towels, toilet paper, soap, or water. Greasy bus. This sucked.
We had to transfer buses half way through and the staff on the first bus were great but the staff on the second bus was awful. Wouldn’t book with Pullman again.
The trip was generally satisfying, but it was too hot to sleep. Turning the ventilation a little higher would have done wonders. On a previous trip, the staff passed by regularly to check if we were alright, but not this time. Furthermore, there was no wifi and the speed monitoring system was not operational.
Bus seats (salon) are very comfortable. Stuff polite and helpful. Washroom did not have any toilet paper nor paper towels. It did overflow and was smelly for the second half of the trip.
Since we crossed the Jama Border, a short briefing about the altitude and it's dangers would have been appreciated. Some people fainted at the border because no one told them to eat light and drink much. That's kind of unprofessional to me.
My bus was cancelled. Staff were unhelpful. They let us on the bus from
San Pedro to Calama thinking that the connecting bus to Arica would be fine however we arrived in Calama to discover our bus was cancelled with no more information provided
Bus man was very nice. Very happy and polite towards me even tho I dont speak Spanish. Was even snacks 3 times during the trip. Stopped quickly at a volcano to take picture which was nice of them
Overall, good quality and very friendly staff, but there were some issues and the bus arrived in Santiago 6 hours later without us being informed what had happened or what was the reason of such delay.
The bus itself is very nice and the staff also, although it can be difficult to communicate with them as they don’t speak a word of English. Also, they have two options when buying a ticket. I bought the one with the XL seats and was supposed to get a snack on bleats. The seats for half the price was the same size and I didn’t receive anything to eat. So basically I payed doubled for nothing.
Our bus broke down 90 minutes after leaving Salta. We then did not move for nearly 6 hours whilst the drivers tried to fix the problem. In the end Pullman sent another bus but we did not arrive in San Pedro until 23.00 am 8 hour delay. We needed a replacement bus earlier.
The seat was comfortable as it reclined further back than I thought. The staff were very nice and tried to communicate in english to me. There was no where to charge your phone or camera which they said there would be. We also ran out of toilet paper half way through the trip.
No internet. 2 snacks on a 22 hour ride compared to the hot lunch served on the 8hr trip from Valpo to La Serena was a disappointment. (Also, I had internet & toilet paper on the 8 hr trip.) The attendant was very indifferent to his responsibility. The gentleman on the Valpo bus to La Serena was better trained & committed to giving fine service & hospitality. Bathroom was clean & stocked. He appeared quite often to check on us & advised people of the stops. The young man on the 22 hr ride only appeared to bring snacks & pick up trash. We never knew when we were stopping. We were never told it was ok to go out to stretch our legs or to go buy something. Big difference! What I experienced on the 8 hr ride set the bar and should be common on all rides but especially a 22 hour ride.
The journey was smooth and the driver was polite and calm on the road. The bus was slightly more modern from the ones we’ve previously travelled on, but the USB phone ports didn’t work, the window wouldn’t close properly, the legroom was too small and the toilet was dirty. The journey was said to take 7 hours but we left on time and we arrived 45 minutes early.
Great service. The only reason we were late into San Pedro de Atacama was due to a passenger getting held up being processed by Customs etc at the Argentine /Chile border.
