The bus does NOT go to Purmamarca. It drops off on the motorway in the middle of nowhere 4 km away from town. There was no information provided at the time of booking. I only found out when boarding the bus. The bus got there late around 7:15pm, so it was getting late and dark - very uncomfortable situation for a female foreign traveler to be left in the middle of nowhere at this time.. very disappointed!
There was a bit of uncertainty about which Balut bus was the one for Tilcara. Signage and info at Salta bus station does not exist. So lots of dashing about asking harressed drivers dumb questions.

My printed ticket was not recognized. I bought it online. I had to pay 100 pesos for handling my bag. It is nowhere written. The staf did not speak English, and the Spanish was not ment to be understood by foreigners. The staf was in a hurry. There was no announcement where the coming stop was to be reached soon.
But I arrived where I wanted to be, and it was carnaval time..!

It was a very old battered bus.
There was a strong smell of diesel for the whole journey and that made me feel unwell.
Great bus service. Arrived early and the staff was super friendly.
The bus dropped me 3 km from purmamarca center, this wasn’t very clear when booking the bus.
Although the bus was a little late, it didn't matter. It was a great trip. First lush green country and once over the hills, those wonderful barren hills with cacti growing on them. Very enjoyable, all of it!
It would be great if there is some guidance as to which bus to take especially 2 buses arriving at the terminus at the same time

After reading the previous reviews I was apprehensive about going with Balut but everything went well the only problem we could have encountered was when we booked with busbyd we chose the front window seats but on the ticket we received the seat numbers were not listed but we did sit where we wanted but were worried someone else had our numbers

Non professional employees giving no indication and making no effort to understand the client. The man in charge of the luggages constantly asks for tips (to put the luggage in the trunk and to take it out which takes literally 5 seconds).The bus was pretty old and dusty with average leg-room and no onboard service (not even a cup of water during the 7h30 drive).

Frienly staff, WiFi, snacks and lunch included, relatively clean toilet.
Air conditioning, when there's no heat wave is pointless, it actually make people sick. Stopping half an hour to try to fix it was not necessary

The bus did not stop in Purmamarca. I was dropped off along the route and had to walk 4km to Purmamarca.

Staff at office desk were rude. Bus staff demanded money to put bags on Bus and take bags off!
My bus forgot to stop at Purmamarca. Hopefully another passenger needed to stop there and realized that. He made the bus stop in the middle of the road and we had to call a taxi to get to Purmamarca, which we had to pay for of course ! We arrived 40 minutes later.
Staff were quite helpful, seats were ok. We were pleased that travellers stayed with pre-selected seats, as we had a wonderful view out of seats
1 & 2 on the upper deck.

The staff was very impolite and we were surprised by some hidden extra expenses along the way.
For example we had to pay to have our ticket printed and to get our luggage stored in the bus. This was very inconvenient since it was our last stop in Argentina and we didn’t have any cash

Good service. Wifi on board would be great.
It was my first visit to Argentina. I was very satisfied with the excellent service from Juan. He helped me with giving me a lot of travell-advice for Jujuy area. The breakfast was splendid. The hotel is in the centrum of Jujuy. I gave the hotel top score especially because of the great service.
Quite good trip. Old bus but comfy and tv worked ok so could watch movies.Toilet ok also.
Nice staff, told me where to get off.
Fine company, but for some reason they had the heaters on when it was hot outside. But when asked the drivers turned it off.
