The staff were very friendly there was no issues with crew on board. The light meal that I purchased was tasty but a little pricey.. 12$ for a handful of veggies/crackers. The wifi was extremely slow & there was no option to even pay for a premium which could allow for faster wifi. The washroom was absolutely repulsive, it smelt so awful I almost threw up. There was urine all over the seats/walls/floor. Toilet paper was scattered on the floor it was pretty disgusting.
I had a very good experience. Left on time. Car was perfectly clean and comfortable. Service was immaculate in Business Class. The staff were constantly moving about and serving with a smile. The food and drink choices were good and tasty. Beats airlines in every way. Definitely will only travel Via between Ottawa-Montreal-Toronto.
Lots of leg room but seats very uncomfortable. Woman next to me had tray collapse and spill her hot tea on her leg. Tray ended up duct taped to seat as it could not go back up. Staff awesome but way to be neglectful l.
We travelled from Ottawa to Toronto leaving June 24 at 10:45 from fsllowfield station. We took business class to try and make sure we had a peaceful trip. There was a group of 12 guys in businesses class on the same trip that were very loud and obnoxious. They were asked to keep it quiet once, but never really did. The staff on our trip were very pleasant and helpful.
Quite possibly the WORST experience on a train I have ever had. The train hit a fallen tree on the tracks and was unable to continue in its destination to Toronto. The staff were great, however their timing to transfer passengers off the broken train and onto a new train was over 6 hours. They were still making people pay for food after sitting on the stopped train for over 3 hours. At the 6 hour mark they offered passengers pizza. While that is a nice gesture, I am lactose intolerant and was given a small package of nuts & raisins as a dairy-free meal. The train that we were transferred onto should be retired in a museum. It was a time warp into the 70’s. I’ve seen couches tossed outside in the rain for days in better shape than the seats we had to sit in. The pull-out tray attached to the chair was broken. We departed Ottawa at 2:32pm and did not arrive into Toronto until after 1am. By far the worst experience on a train.
