The seats were comfortable and accessible charging under the seats. The bathroom door kept sliding open and did not lock. The Wifi was impossible to connect to on multiple devices. I do understand we hit some spotty areas along the trip from NYC to Ithaca NY, but I couldn't even connect to it at the bus station. When we got to the bus stop, my husband had to crawl into the underneath of the bus to get our luggage that had moved. I don't feel that the driver should have allowed him to do that and should have grabbed them for us. We were only 1 of maybe 4 people that got off at this stop. Overall, I don't have huge complaints, but I wouldn't advertise internet and movies when the network is not just spotty, but not there.
The bus broke down on the way to Ithaca, it took 2 hours to get a smaller bus to Binghamton. On this smaller bus we had to leave our luggage because there wasn’t space for it, so my bags were left in Bing. Terrible experience, will use a more reliable bus company next time.
(1) When departing from NYC, please make clear the stop is one block away from Port Authority. We nearly missed our bus because of it.
(2) The bus driver was displeased with us arriving at 7:00 am (i.e., time of departure) and made it clear but only to me (a woman) and not my husband.
I enjoyed the trip. From New York City to Ithaca the windows were extremely dirty. It's always a pleasure to spend bus time looking out of the windows.
The bus driver didn’t communicate anything so we can arrange for solutions for the transfer to get to ithaca. A couple and I hired an Uber to pick us up 3 hours after our planned arrival, so we can get to Ithaca.
Great staff - polite, informative and helpful. Had a good journey.
The phone charging ports did not work, even tho the “charging on” symbol comes on. perhaps due to very low power supply?
It was surprisingly good for the amount I paid! The seats were slightly on the uncomfortable side but the plugs worked and there was consistent WiFi throughout the trip!
I am an International Student at Cornell and my flight into New York City was delayed mid-flight and I subsequently missed my bus to Ithaca. I tried contacting the customer service of ourbus several times desperately to no avail and ended up losing money and having to rebook with a different service. Did not get the help I hoped to find.
The scheduled leg from Binghamton to Ithaca was 6:16-7:24. We boarded on time, and then just sat for an hour. Eventually a driver boarded and we left Binghamton about 7:20. The driver told me that the scheduled times don't hold during college breaks -- but nobody told us that.
We arrived in Ithaca about 8:40 and had to park by a huge snowdrift. I am somewhat disabled, so getting out of the bus itself was a project, and then getting my luggage from the door on that side was a hassle. Fortunately my 2 heavy bags were in the front, so a helpful young man was able to get them out and "toss" them over the snowbank to my husband on the other side. I was able to sneak around the front of the bus, onto the street, and then into the drive where our car was parked, without having to go over the snowbank, which I could not do. The height of the snowbank was between my knees and hips. Meanwhile, the bus driver was dealing with the luggage on the street side, while cars honked rudely. This is a ridiculous and dangerous situation. At the very least, Ithaca could remove snow from the curb by the "station" (which was closed), and perhaps put up a sign to drivers to please be courteous in the fairly rare moments when an intercity bus has to stop there.
We got dropped off at the wrong place because the driven was given the wrong destination. The bus was mostly on time to that incorrect destination, at least. Good driver.
The bus was only 10 minutes late leaving the NYC (and due to tunnel traffic), but my connecting bus going on from Binghamton to Ithaca was 45-minutes or so late. Also, there was no WiFi or working electrical outlets on either bus, which is a must for me to be able to work while traveling. A tray would also be very nice.
Sufficiently helpful, but communication of where to queue, how many buses would run the route etc was not forthcoming, so I was stressed as it seemed confusing. But it appears that the staff knew what they were doing although they could be a bit morr reassuring. Condition of first bus, NYC to Binghamton a bit rundown.
The bus ride from NYC to Binghamton was excellent. The driver made all the rules known to everyone and made sure that they were adhered to. The bus from Binghamton to Ithaca was fine until we entered Ithaca. The driver went directly to the campus and delayed our arrival to Ithaca bus depot by 1.5 hrs. This was unacceptable and made people on the bus agitated. If not for that incident , I would give a higher rating.
The bus ride was overall pleasant. Besides for the fact that the bus was freezing and half of the outlets did not work, the bus was on time and a clean, comfortable environment.
The driver was good. However, the condition of the bus was horrible. The bathroom door did not lock so it kept on banging in the back. The emergency light was broken so every time the bus even went over a small bump, it kept on flashing in my face. It could have just been an old bus. At least it was clean.
Very nice driver bus left right on time and we boarded early. Bus was comfortable and ride was super smooth and we arrived right on time! Honestly I wish I discovered this bus earlier as I would have done this ride many times instead of driving!
