South Western Railway User Reviews
South Western Railway is appreciated for its smooth service and comfortable trains with effective heating. However, some users have noted issues such as unfriendly staff at the Portsmouth ticket office and concerns about overcrowding on trains during rail strikes.
Overcrowded train with many people standing. Luckily somebody eventually gave up their seat for me as I have mobility problems. But why did this train only have 3 carriages?
Angela K.
Smooth service, comfortable train with good heating.
Panagiota Lili T.
Train was overcrowded from Waterloo. Platform staff shouting at passengers who were unaware of which carriages to board. Passengers standing throughout the carriages until Basingstoke. Nowhere for those of us travelling down from Heathrow (after arriving from Australia) to have our large luggage stowed. Not the best start to our holiday in England.
Annette C.
Train was dangerously overcrowded but due to rail Strike not surprizing!
Andy T.
Train was unavailable. Ended up needing to book an Uber
Colton H.
The staff at Portsmouth ticket office were quite unfriendly and they said that buying tickets through agencies is very unreliable and there is no communication between yourselves and them.
