Excellent service of staff, and a really comfortable trip.
I was really impressed with the service on the bus, our hostess was lovely. The toilets were clean, and the entertainment facilities were up to date with a good selection of things to watch and usb port for charging devices. I requested via email that my meal be gluten free and I was really impressed that they catered for me and the food was pretty good!
Bus bud sold the wrong ticket to us. It was to La Paz Argentina not Bolivia. We pulled our bags off and found another bus. We did not use the tickets.
The driver drove carefully and confidently. Our luggage was safe, we got tickets and could only retrieve our bags with them. Seats are comfy, lots of room. There was a box with crackers upon departure and a basic sandwich when we crossed the border. Coffee and limonade too. There was only one bus ahead of us at the crossing so it went fast, maybe 45 mins altogether. First line up is for a passport check up and then the staff offloads luggage to be screened. Whoever has a jar or an unusual content on the bag is called out to have it inspected - no bee products and fruits and vegetables. We ate our fruit before the crossing and we were allowed to take our cheese sandwiches past the border. The road is in a good condition the whole time and the hairpin serpentines are fun! We even arrived to Santiago ahead of time, the border crossing time is calculated into the total journey time.
The staff should be more friendly
Bus stopped at a small hospital for 45 min. No explanation that we could understand. Clearing customs went smoothly. Then made another stop at small town to let off a handful of passengers. By then it was 6:30 pm and traffic was terrible. Reached Santiago around 9;30 pm, but so many busses arriving that we had to sit on bus trying to get to entry of bus station. Huge traffic jam of buses. When we finally got off bus, so many people waiting for bus, we could not make our way to taxi. Will NOT ride bus again. My 5 hr trip turned into 10. To top it off, I originally booked a bus with seats at the front. Was told they changed bus so kicked us back a row. Not what I purchased!
Seats were comfortable and the staff were friendly, but the toilet didn’t have any paper and it was disgustingly dirty. The food was terrible and no choice given.
The bus was comfortable and it was nice to be given snacks, but when we arrived in Santiago, we sat on the bus for over half an hour before we could even get into the terminal. Then it was a free-for-all for the luggage at the end, with a security guy standing over everyone. I didn’t feel safe in the bus terminals. Also, every time anyone moved our luggage they came up and asked for tips (propina). If this is the case, then the companies need to add a little more to pay the people who move the luggage, as it was extremely rude and irritating to be constantly asked to give them money. If I want to give someone money, I will do it on my own.
Fantastic service. The steward insured that the bus was kept clean at all times.
Very comfortable! The arrival was about 90min late, but with a 21h bus ride, I expected the arrival time to be a little off, so I was fine with that. The seats were extremely comfortable, the ride was pleasant, and they provided plenty of food. I will definitely recommend this to friends and family.
Very good bus, though I was expecting a blanket and pillow for our trip.
Everything worked well! Thanks!
Good bus but a very high price
The bus itself was quite comfortable. My only complaint was that the staff played the music quite loud. I could hear it over my own music in my headphones.
Two issues I had were 1. the quality of the snacks and 2. Baggage handlers pressed me for a tip in Mendoza when we had all chipped in to tip them previously. Locals were treated differently
The drinks and foods served on the bus were disappointing to us. There was no papers on the toilet. And, there should be a Wi-Fi service on the bus.
Very nice company, clean toilets with is very appreciated!
CATA was utmost professional and a total joy to travel with. Highly recommended.
Seats could have been cleaner.
Never got on this bus it did not exist
The unclear information on what is being booked became apparent on this journey. Despite a price pretty much the same as the three previous journeys, I booked a small seat. It did recline just much smaller. This rather marred the journey experience. The food was actually the best I’ve experienced to date but I think the drivers take turns to drive and deal with the customer service the rest of the time. It was interesting the service pleasant but definitely not refined. No blankets or cushions either. Journey started and finished on time. Could have been worse.
I booked the front seat on the top level. And i got it... Great service. Great ride. Will recommend CATTA to my friends.
Great scenery and they gave us a sandwich and snacks for breakfast and lunch. The border crossing was painless thanks to a kind passenger who helped us with translation. There is NO English spoken by the staff (this is not a complaint just a comment) so it’s difficult to follow directions without assistance. It’s a 7 hour trip and even with beautiful scenery and comfy seats it’s a big day and tiring. The only stop is the border - no other opportunity to stretch your legs. However it’s well worth doing once 😊
Buena experiencia, gracias
The bus was very old and dirty, but the staff was very friendly
Bus was ok. Executive seats were decent, though my partners individual screen did not work. The air conditioning broke part way through the journey. Had to be fixed en route to mendoza
All good, but don’t had the idea that anyone in the bus was looking at the movie
Comfortable trip in a nice bus. Have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first but it was a good decision.
CATA is one of the better bus lines with very good service.
