Ontario Northland User Reviews
Ontario Northland receives praise for its professional and friendly drivers, who are often noted for their helpfulness. Many passengers appreciate the comfortable seating and efficient ticketing system. However, some reviews mention issues such as occasional delays, lack of Wi-Fi connectivity on certain trips, uncomfortable seating in specific areas like disabled spots, and unpleasant odors from smoking during travel.
Compare to using a plane, quieter, foot rest, no seat belt, better view of the environment. I would suggest that the store where we had to stop to buy whatever for lunch also had a pizza counter which was closed. It seems that if I was the owner, a few extra pizza could have been available to reheat for the bus customers. It's well known that left over pizza is eaten after having been kept in refrigerator and eaten cold or slightly reheated in microwave. It would still be a better choice that most munchies.

I gave a 3 star instead of less than one, because the bus driver was amazing at customer service without even knowing about the bad experience I had to get my bus on time. I left the NorthBay mall 49 minutes prior to my bus leaving time. There is an access from the mall to the bus terminal that takes one minute to cross. This access was blocked and barricaded. Without any signage as to an alternate access point. A nice passerby told me how to go around to get there. I had to walk from the back of the mall to the front to the highway and then walk on the unpaved area as there was no sidewalk then down a street to get to the station. It took 30 minutes. I barely made my bus. I received no notification that the mall access was closed and nothing was posted in the mall. I had to haul heavy bags in the hot sun and as a senior this was a dangerous risk for heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Not to mention the anxiety that I would miss my bus and be stranded in North Bay. I had gotten a ride there from 3 hours away and my ride was long gone. I wish I could get some compensation for this terrible experience.

I enjoyed the camaraderie of the bus driver and the internet service on board. The rest of the trip was terrible. The first bus that was supposed to pick me up and take me to the station never arrived. After a one hour walk to get to the station I arrived half an hour before the next bus. Once on board, the driver told us that they were waiting for another bus from Toronto and that we will depart late. This change made me arrived 45 minutes late to my destiny. Frankly, I still don't understand why we waited for the other bus. First time ever this happens.

The driver was always looking at his phone while driving, even when we had on coming traffic from the opposite side of the road. He had driven on the rumble strips several times and he was eating and piece of buttered bread and eating chili at the same time as he drove. I felt worried about my safety. He was talking with coworkers numerous times. I am very upset about this. I suffer from mental illness and extreme anxiety. I am very disappointed.
