Boltbus ceased operations in the USA
Boltbus was a bus company in the United States, a subsidiary of Greyhound Lines. The company operated from 2008 until 2021, when it ceased operations due to the impacts of the pandemic.
Boltbus provided express bus service between New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C., and Boston. In 2012, Boltbus expanded to serve additional cities on the East Coast, including Richmond, VA; Norfolk and Virginia Beach, VA. Towards the end, Boltbus traveled to over 120 routes.
The company gained popularity for its low fares and randomly offered at least one $1 bus ticket for all its trips. Boltbus fleet was also popular for having higher standards for comfort than most bus companies.
