Boltbus ceased operations in the USA
Boltbus was a bus company in the United States, a subsidiary of Greyhound Lines. The company operated from 2008 until 2021, when it ceased operations due to the impacts of the pandemic.
Boltbus provided express bus service between New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C., and Boston. In 2012, Boltbus expanded to serve additional cities on the East Coast, including Richmond, VA; Norfolk and Virginia Beach, VA. Towards the end, Boltbus traveled to over 120 routes.
The company gained popularity for its low fares and randomly offered at least one $1 bus ticket for all its trips. Boltbus fleet was also popular for having higher standards for comfort than most bus companies.
Boltbus ceased operations in September 2021 and Greyhound took over most of its routes.

It will be nice for driver or local administrator to direct the traffic of loading luggage as the way we line up. We are 2 seniors and 2 children under age of 10 with 3 large luggage arrived at the bus stop 1 hour ahead and waited on lines; but there was no line when bus came. We could not fight with oung riders to drop the luggage. We had to rearrange other’s luggage before we can get ours in. That was very unpleasant. This is our first experience taking the bus from this company. We thought it will be like flex bus in Europe. We sit 4 rows from the back and we started to smell the Bathroom after 2 hours of driving.

My seat was torn and broken and there was a metal thing sticking into my backside. The bus (and A/C) was not turned on for the 20-30 minutes we waited before departing so it was hot and humid. Bus driver announced upon departure that he would be dropping off at different location than expected, but couldn't catch the location so had to wait until arrival to plan my transportation to my final destination. I had to load my luggage on to the bus but then someone must have moved it to a different location afterwards, so I panicked at first that my luggage had been stolen before realizing it had just been moved. Wifi was unreliable and slow. But I made it to my destination safely.

Literature says Bolt bus fills 50 seats,and wifi, which I expected, allowing for a modecum od SOCIAL DISTANCINGand sime sort of entertainment on the trip. Wekk, no wifion yhe bus, bo explication, just no eifi... At the STOPS in Tacoma and Olympia , additional passengers entered. Enough to fill EVERY SEAT, thus over crowding the bus and NO SOCIAL DISTANCING of any sort, my legs were going numb from lack of movement ( i was ‘fortunate’ enough to uphave a 6 foot 6inch basketball player in the seat next to me.) before we arrived in Portland. the trip was horrible, and i eveb the time and place for departure in seattle is convenient doubt i will ever ride BoltBus again. I am very disappointed

How do I book a BoltBus ticket?

Are there any meals or refreshments available on BoltBus trips?
No. Bolt Bus does not provide food or beverages onboard. However, you are free to bring your personal food and beverages on your journey. Keep in mind to stock up on snacks and beverages beforehand. Also, note that alcohol is not permitted.
How Does the BoltBus Boarding Procedure Operate?
They recommend that you be at the pickup location at least 15 minutes prior to the set scheduled departure time. You are required to show up with your confirmation email if you acquired an online ticket. The email can either be electronic or printed. This confirmation will serve as the boarding clearance and therefore will need to be provided to the driver.
