Founded in 1926 by the Van Gonsic Berardi family, Trailways of New York first began as the Rip Van Winkle brand with commuter service between New York City and the Hudson Valley.
In the 1990's, the company went through a major expansion phase and added routes to Montreal, Toronto and Long Island.
Today, Trailways of New York operates under four brands including Adironback Trailways, Pine Hill Trailways, New York Trailways and NeOn Bus.
Their latest fleet features black leather seats on a wood floor. Amenities also include Wi-Fi, power outlets on every seat and an onboard washroom.
New York Trailways generally offers great deals on bus tickets before popular travel seasons. You can expect to get a good deal if you search a month prior to the back to school season, Thanksgiving & Christmas holidays, Spring Break and the start of summer.
