The bus toilet was stinking in the whole bus. I had to travel an 8 hour trip with my jacket covering my nose. It was such an awful experience for my daughter and I. We felt sick when we jumped out of the bus. We didn’t even buy food half way because there was no way we were going to eat in the bus. There was no ventilation or air conditioning it was stuffy. It was the worst bus ride ever!
Many users appreciate the reliability of the bus service, noting that drivers are skilled and maintain a safe speed limit. The staff is praised for their excellent communication skills. However, some reviews mention issues such as longer travel times than expected and occasional delays in reaching destinations. Additionally, there were reports about non-functional charging points and buses lacking toilets.
Intercape Mainliner Heidelberg - GP Durban recent customer reviews
The bus trip was okay, however it was longer than usual. We were running late then hit a huge amount of traffic in Pietermaritzburg which made our 7 hour trip into a 9 hour trip

Very disappointed and dissatisfied. The service is poor and the bus drivers are rude and have a very bad attitude. Toilet dirty with no tissue paper. Charging port not working. Time of departure was an hour late. Bus not serviced, engine making a lot of noise and the bus broke down we stayed out of nowhere for 3 hours hungry and thirsty…yoooh worst trip ever. I regret choosing Intercape

Big Sky Express Heidelberg - GP Durban recent customer reviews
The bus had a bad smell the whole way. the bus wasnt dirty or look bad it just smelled - i think the lavatory was full/ not functioning? I got in at Heidelberg so i sat in the front but the smell was still overwhelming there, i cant imagine how it was for those sitting closer. It's a good bus, comfortable and efficient, just please make sure to clean out the toilets often. I was nauseous the whole way and was too afraid to walk towards the toilet so that was uncomfortable
