**The most terrifying experience of my life.**
We were traveling from La Paz to Uyuni when our bus suddenly stopped dangerously in the middle of the road around 2 a.m. At first, I thought the driver might have been tired and was taking a quick nap to ensure we arrived safely at 7 a.m. However, even after 50 minutes, the bus still hadn’t moved, and the heater made the inside of the bus unbearably hot.
As the temperature rose, passengers started waking up, and one person decided to check on the driver. They knocked on the driver's door to ask about the situation, but he didn’t respond. When the knocking continued, all the passengers were awake, and we collectively realized something was wrong.
We contacted the police, but they dismissed our call, assuming it was a mechanical issue. While some passengers tried knocking harder, others even attempted to forcibly open the door. Just as we were about to dismantle the door, the bus suddenly started moving. When the driver finally opened the door, we were overwhelmed by a strong smell of alcohol.
Realizing the driver was intoxicated, we immediately stopped him from driving and called the police again. We were left in the hot bus, filled with anxiety and fear, from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. A replacement bus arrived at 6 a.m., and we finally reached Uyuni at 10 a.m., hours behind schedule.
This was the most horrific and dangerous travel experience I’ve ever had. The safety and well-being of passengers should always be the top priority, and this bus company clearly failed in their responsibility. I strongly urge the company to take action against this driver and implement stricter policies to ensure passenger safety in the future.

Not the most comfortable of night buses, but the worst bit was the driver leaving the heating on all night, even after passengers complained
