About Iryo
Iryo is a Spanish transportation company that made its debut in November 2022, when railway company ILSA proudly launched its first Iryo trip.
What sets these trains apart from competitors AVE, Avlo and OUIGO Spain is the premium service offered on board. With a travel time of 2 hours and 30 minutes between Madrid's Atocha station to Barcelona's Sants station (with one stop in Zaragoza), passengers can experience luxury like never before with each trip!

Iryo destinations
Although the company has plans to expand its presence across Spain and Europe, currently, Iryo trains are operating on a few routes. Here's what you should know about Iryo's routes and destinations.
Madrid - Zaragoza - Barcelona: The first lryo route was launched in November 2022, with service between Madrid, Barcelona and Zaragoza. The trip lasts 2h30, departing from Madrid Atocha stations and ending in Barcelona Sants Station. These trains operate 16 times a day (each way), making them a comfortable and convenient way to travel between these cities.
Madrid - Cuenca - Valencia: The second Iryo route to be launched connects the country's capital city to Valencia, with a stop in Cuenca. The route, which takes around 1h50, operates around 4 times a day (each way), allowing customers to choose when and where they want to travel. The trains leave from Madrid Chamartín station and arrive at Valencia Joaquín Sorolla station.
Madrid - Córdoba - Seville - Málaga: this route will be available from March 31st, 2023. With four daily departures each way, the trip will connect Madrid's Atocha Station to Málaga's María Zembrano station. The full journey is expected to last up to 2h35 and 1h45 for travelers stopping in Cordoba.
With goals of expanding its rail services, by June 2023, the company plans to add two new destinations - Albacete, in east-central Spain, and Alicante on the beautiful Valencia coast.

The 20 brand new Iryo red trains have two main characteristics: high-speed and low noise. The idea is to provide more comfortable, modern ways to move around Spain and contribute to the country's railway transportation system.
The trains are known as "Frecciarossa 1000", combining the best of Italian design and Spanish technology. The high-tech trains will offer quality services, including high-speed wi-fi and a restaurant.
The fleet is also equipped with an air conditioning system capable of renewing the air inside each train in just three minutes, securing a cleaner and safer environment for travelers.

Iryo tickets
Iryo offers tickets with significant discounts when purchased in advance. This makes it easier to optimize your budget when planning for vacation without sacrificing quality and comfort during your Iryo train journey.
Prices for the journey from Madrid to Zaragoza start at €18, but prices can vary depending on how early you book, the time and the route.
Iryo train classes
Inside the Iryo trains, customers will find four classes of seating. All of them offer comfortable experiences that cater to every passenger.
1. Infinita class: Includes, flexible tickets, date changes, missed trains cover and refunds. These tickets also grant extra comfortable seats, seat selection, bistro menu, lounge access and pet fare.
2. Singular Only YOU class: A workspace perfect for entrepreneurs and companies. Includes all the amenities of Infinita, with different refund rules and food menus.
3. Singular class: Comfort, technology and 5G. These tickets are more affordable but still offer a premium experience.
4. Inicial class: A space designed for every type of traveler. These are the most affordable of Iryo's tickets. Expect less flexibility in case of missed trains and exchange fees.

Travel for free in Madrid's Cercanias trains with your Iryo ticket
Cercanías is Madrid's local commuter rail service, which connects Madrid and its metropolitan area. The service is operated by Renfe, the national rail service, which provides an amazing opportunity - a FREE Combinado Cercanías ticket either at the origin station or destination station.
This means that passengers with an Iryo ticket can access any of Renfe's regional services without having to pay any extra fees. So if you're traveling to or from Madrid with an Iryo ticket, you travel with Cercanías trains up to 4 hours before boarding your Iryo train in Madrid or after arriving in Madrid with Iryo.

2 - At the Cercanías train station, find a ticket machine
3 - Scan the QR code from your Iryo ticket in the machine - remember it's only valid 4 hours before leaving Madrid or 4 hours after arriving in the city
4 - That's it! You won't be charged for your Cercanías train tickets.
