The journey was a nightmare. There we’re 3 stops of 1 hour and a half to 2 hours. It made me sick and I had to cancel my tour to Salgar Uyuni. Never anymore.
App said I could use digital ticket but they wouldn’t let me use it at the station. Additionally app didn’t let select seats so was assigned a random one. Also app made it seem like it was a cama class but bus only had regular chairs
Do not book this company, avoid and choose any other option. This company mid-journey made me vacate my seat as they overbooked at a later stop and then told me they put me on the wrong bus originally. They lied to me to get me to vacate the bus saying the other bus was here right now. There was no bus when I got off and they then told me it would be an hour. I refused to let them leave me stranded waiting for a possibility of another bus and whether it would even have the said seat. Their solution was to then have me sit on the aisle floor.
The instructions that came with the ticket advised to show this when boarding. I did this, and once all of my luggage was loaded I was told I needed to go to the desk and get a paper ticket. I went back to the desk where the lady took forever although I advised the bus was soon leaving. She then printed a ticket and gave it to me with no further instructions. I went to get back on the bus and was told no. I had to run back to the desk and it was only then that I was told I needed to go to another desk and have a stamp put on the ticket to which the lady at the counter requested more money. As all of my things were on the bus that was about to leave I had to frantically ask someone else for the money in order to make the bus. Once on the bus I was asked to move to another seat that had a faulty back and thus I endured a very uncomfortable journey. The check in process should have been clearly communicated when purchasing the ticket by the third party which it was not so please don’t make the same mistake I did.
Worst bus service ever. Avoid if possible. Driver speeds, goes into oncoming traffic, honks horn at people non stop even when everyone is sleeping. Hes going to get someone killed. 8:45 bus wasnt the 8:30 driver like previously planned.
The bus itself was fine, but staff in Copacabana did not warn us about the customs declaration required until the last minute, causing a sudden panic amongst passengers. The bus left about an hour late, but the main complaint is that we needed to change in Puno and that hadn't been made clear, and staff had no obvious idea which bus was meant to go where. It worked out in the end but was chaotic.
The bus needed new springs and shocks in the back. The lights above the seats didn’t work and the air was intermittent. But the seats were comfortable. The driver was good and the attendant was very attentive.
Everything was fine until the heater was turned on at maximum heat. Everyone was sleeping perfectly before that and we all woke up and struggled to get back to sleep because it was 30 degrees inside the cabin. Please, never turn on the heater or tune it down, I had to block the vent with my vest to manage to get some sleep again. All companies do that, I do t understand it, it literally kills the trip every time.
It was suppose to be 1 bud but I had to take 2 which added on a lot of time. Also we were dropped in El Alto 20 minutes outside of La Paz with no Bolivian currency or Bolivian sim card so it was difficult to pay for transport into La Paz
The chairs reclined quite far back which was nice. The staff spoke some English which was helpful.
The toilet was disgusting. The smell was terrible. The heating was on all night which made it unbearable. We eventually got it turned off but it was too late. The bus was delayed 4 hours which may have not been the fault of the company but nevertheless it didn't help the experiance. Also my wife was asked to bring her chair up by the staff as the man behind was uncomfortable. I don't think this is acceptable on a 10 hour or what turned out to be 14 hour bus journey.
we weren’t told we’d have to wait in puno station for two hours. very misleading. the bus stopped for an extra 3 hours on the side of the road due to construction. the bus staff were telling me i needed a visa to get into bolivia despite being from the EU
Really poor. Had to email our own tickets for company to print whilst at bus station. Left 25 minutes late. Border crossing was shambles and we were left waiting in extreme UV for nearly half an hour (no shade) as there was no bus on other side. Bus conductor really poor and unprofessional and tried to grab my partners belongings. Would not recommend!
The agents at the desk were not pleasant and wouldn’t help me in my request. I wasn’t told that I have to make stop at Puno for few hours before my next bus to copabana. Also, nobody knows (foreigners) that there’s a tax to pay when leaving a region
Confirmed in Web site, direct bus ticket from Puno to La Paz and travelling time would be 6 hours. Finally, in exchanging the ticket in counter, they gave me an indirect ticket and need transit in Copacabana and travelling in another bus company. Total travelling time from Puno to La Paz was 12 hours including 1.5 hr delay departure and 1 hr transit time.
Abysmal, bus was delayed by 3 hours, didn't make the border in time. Had to walk to the Bolivian border (20 mins at 11pm at night to check if it was open) come back, move all the bags and people, walk across to the Peruvian border. Once processed we got into minibuses instead of the Cama bus we had go get to Puno. On arrival in Puno we then got into a standard bus with no beds and no toilets for the remaining 8 hour journey.
Bus was supposed to leave at 5.30am. Didn't leave until 7am. Stopped several times for no apparent reason. Was supposed to arrive around mid day. Arrived just before 4am. Missed our transfer. Useless bus company. Will never book again
We were supposed to get to Copacabana at 12 but got there at 1:15 so I almost missed the last ferry that day to isla del sol and therefore the whole purpose for the trip as I only had time for one night at the island.
First off the guy at the counter in Arequipa changed our bus to Puno, also giving us spectacularly bad seats, after arriving on a dismal bus ride in puno we were forced out of the bus and had to call in an audible and get tickets from puno -> La Paz. Also the guy at the counter yelled at my gf because we asked if we could pay the tax by card. All in all a horrible experience! I will not recommend Transzela to anyone.
The bus attendant was extremely helpful at the border to Bolivia when the border guards required more documents than expected. She was very patient and helfpul.
Absolutely abysmal. The bus went straight past the Bolivia border office, leaving us in the dark and having to pay a fine. I demand to be reimbursed for your complete ineptitude & to cover my fine
