Friendly, no english unfortunately. Sometimes it was unclear at which terminal we arrived.
The full cama chair looked more like a semi-cama. The bus stopped quite frequently (once every 2 hours) for 15 minutes. During this time they turned of the airco. Morevoer we had 1.5 hours of delay
This was my first time taking a bus in brasil, and I am still learning Portuguese. So I don’t understand a lot of the signs and all the announcements are also in Portuguese which is understandable as that is the language of the country. I had to ask the clerk to speak slower so I could understand and she had an attitude.
The clerks that I dealt with didn’t seem too friendly or empathetic to a person who isn’t brasilian and not fluent in Portuguese.
Since it is a bus station, they should understand there will be travelers from other countries who may not always be fluent in Portuguese. I am still learning and studying the language. So this made me feel unwelcome.
i would recommend Catarinense to any of my friends, the staff was very friendly, the bus and stations were extremely clean. the seats were super comfortable and the wifi was amazing!!
My ticket had no seat number and they wouldn’t let me on without printing a new ticket. I was only able to do this because a fellow passenger helped me. The staff didn’t care to help.
The first bus driver was rude to me. I don’t speak Portuguese and asked him at lunch if I could get my phone charger out of my checked bag and he gave me a hard time about it. He opened the baggage hatch and told me I have to go in and get the bag myself without any instruction on how to climb up to reach my bag. He was just so rude I don’t recommend anybody even try talking to this man
As a tourist, I simply wanted to ask the bus driver a question but he would not take one from me, yet he was perfectly fine taking questions from Brazilians. I did not appreciate his blatant refusal to help me when my question was a simple one.
You’re asking me how the bus was? I’m still on the bus for a journey that was meant to end nearly 12 hours ago & we still have more than 4 hours until our destination.
Clean and comfortable. I had trouble with the Wi-Fi. I logged on ok but later lost connection and got an error when I tried to log back in so I had no Wi-Fi for most of the journey.
Spacious seats with huge legroom for long distance travelling on a modern, air conditioned bus. Staff is helpful and efficient, cold bottled water provided and we had a lunch break somewhere everyone could choose plenty from. Definitely recommending them
The bus was stopped overnight (till 5am) by Blosfeld on the roads. We were scheduled to arrive at Cascavel at 22:40 but instead arrived at 07:00 the next morning. I don’t speak Portuguese but understood from one of the passengers that the road was blocked by protestors.
The bus itself was nice. It was supposed to arrive at the airport at 10am, but arrived at 10:30am. It was supposed to arrive at Florianopolis at 2:30pm, but arrived well after 4pm. Also, the bus driver honked at every Bolsonaro protest on the side of the road, pretty unprofessional.
Smooth overnight trip. Comfortable seats. Would have liked the option to upgrade seats when booking.
Bus driver instructions were in Portuguese so we didn’t have any information on how long the stops were for.
The bus took to much time in each stop, which made him late to São Paulo. So I had to go down 45 minutes before and take an Uber at 195 real just so I won’t miss my flight
Super first class comfortable seat, temperature, ventilation. Could provide better info about place and length of rest stops. Staff should have some foreign language knowledge or offer printed guidance.
It was a good trip, however I have to say the a/c is set far too low and between 9 pm and midnight especially, I was freezing!! Bus companies must remember foreigners don’t carry blankets and r mostly wearing shorts and T shirts! I was freezing!!
The bus arrived about 30 minutes early to Curitiba and was a very smooth journey. I don’t speak Portuguese but the staff explained about water and the toilet etc to me via google translate.
