I had to go to a business meeting from Seattle to Bellingham and the train was 2 hours late due to mechanical issues so I missed most of my meeting. While I appreciate Amtrak fixing the train and valuing our safety, it was frustrating that they didn't have a backup plan (like backup buses that could've taken us up instead) and they could have communicated better and offered us to ride for free.
Bus was clean seats were hard, 3.5 hours was half an hour too much. Next time I will wait for the train.
A very unconscious driver, who was not helpful or even aware of riders standing in the cold while she sat inside the bus. She refused to allow people in bus until a very late connecting train arrived in Seattle. She would not allow luggage under bus and just sat looking at all of us. There were two disabled riders who stood in the cold for nearly an hour. Upon arriving to Bellingham one hour late she again left people standing outside while she took a nice long break…finally another Amtrak employee got her to go outside and return to her bus to continue driving, where people had been standing in the rain waiting for over 30 min. The worst, most unkind treatment I have seen by a driver. Even the people who greeted us when we arrived in Bellingham were at least socially aware!! She should have been ashamed of her treatment of riders…
