Bus from East London to Johannesburg: Tickets & Timetables

I haven't reach my destination because the bus has stopped numerous times on the road and eventually we were told in Butterworth that the bus has got a problem and we going wait for the machenic from East London or Mthatha. I then immediately know that I won't be able to reach my destination on time as plan. I then organized a private transport back to East London with the intention of taking flight to Johannesburg so that I can arrive on time for my appointment.

I’m very disappointed the bus was late for 7 hours I was rushing to work but I couldn’t no explanation this is very disappointing

There was a water leakage from the toilet which flowed to the entrance door. I think this was a big minus to me. We only had two breaks, one in Queenstown and the last one in Kroonvaal.

The trip was horrible experience from East London to Johannesburg. There were next to none stop overs for stretch or nourishment. Drivers treat passengers like non human beings, chasing destination times. I think they (Greyhound) and others must start teaching drivers about the importance of customer service.

Service perfect, but the accident we encountered was inevitable, I choose greyhound any day

It arrived on time , that’s what I enjoyed most . What I didn’t enjoy is that one of the driver was rude .

Initially I was happy, the bus arrived on time at East London pick up point, was clean and comfy. And we had to wait for over an hour in Queenstown for another that we were told get on. That bus was old, no charging port worked, the seats were uncomfortable and my seat belt did not even work. Eventually we got to JHB over 2 hours later than scheduled time.

We were moved from one bus to another more than 2 times. In Bloem, the driver did not know the directions around Bloem, had to go back, for us who were going to Joburg to be moved to another bus

The bus driver had attitude. He turned off the heater and it was cold until we reached our destination

No i didn't the bus was late when it was was supposed to pick us up and we were asked to get of the bus to another one but the other bus was full and we had to wait outside for 2 hours when it was raining

Horrible horrible, the bus stopped in the middle of nowhere and I had to take out money to bolt the rest of the way, we waited for almost 2hrs and no one seemed to care!

What a miserable travel it was. Bus was so cold and the driver was very rude. I would never use this bus service again. I regret it and I should have taken the pricing as a red flag.

The bus was very clean. It has comfortable seats and the heater was on the whole night.

We changed busses twice, kept on being stuck on the road, was actually 5hours late for my arrival

The bus was 3hours late and it was very cold .toilets are not clean

very very bad, the bus departure was two hours late and it made some unnecessary stops during the middle of the road, am never using flexi city again I'd rather walk from EL to JHB. 😭

The bus is different to what is shown on the system 😕,,, school bus no heat no aircons lights nothing

The windows couldn’t properly close so we were cold for the whole 16 hours. There was not much leg room and no charging pots but when I booked it said there were charging ports (charging outlets). The bus would wait longer than expected at bus stations or garages. The whole trip was a MESS. Being in such a bus for 16 hours was horrible honestly. (Ramalo coaches as partner to Flexi)

The driver was rude , we only had only two stops for 10minutes in a 15 hours drive which was not enough, the bus was smelling.

I enjoyed everything intercity Xpress, the drivers check on their passengers before departure and I was actually impressed cz it was my first time going on a long distance on the 3rd October and I used the same bus to return 10th October but my return trip after switching to the driver the other one was speeding and that actually woke me up on my sleep my stomach couldn’t take it in

The bus stuck sometime around 2am and only started moving around 5. What shocked me was that the bus driver said that the bus had this problem had this problem the day before. If it had this problem why was it not fixed? Are there no other buses that we could have been fetched with? We got to Joburg sometime after half 8 imagine??

I was at the station @ 5 while the bus was living. It did not stop for me. I had to follow to KWT. The bus suppose to arrive @ 6:20 am but it arrived past 8. It was inconvenient. The driving was excellent.

the bus was on time, very warm throughout the whole night and it arrived a few minutes before arrival time.

They never make it on time, I took it to JHB it was an hour late, I took it back to East London it was 3 hours late.

The bus stops at way too many stations. Too many exchanges and the bus was dirty. When i booked it said il arrive in joburg at 05:50 am yet I arrived around 8:am. Departure was 5pm

I didn't enjoy their speed,they don't stop for passengers to stretch legs and to go to the toilets 😔

The bus came late, it broked down in Queenstown, it had no heater, and when we arrived in JHB it didnt get in the Park station...

Terrible . The bus departed late in East London and took us to queenstown to switch buses cause in the bus we were mixed Johannesburg and Cape Town.There was a sprinter that also carried people who are also going to joburg. When we got to Queenstown the bus that was supposed to take us to joburg was broken down and was being fixed in front of us we waited in Queenstown from 8pm till 03:00 am in the morning for the mechanic to fix it .The bus that we were supposed to take to joburg was already having passengers so when we people from East London arrived we were plenty in numbers and would not fit into the bus . we tried to call the iLula people from East London which they responded to our calls with attitudes and we have resulted in calling the police .We took pictures of the bus registration .When the mechanic was done fixing from 8pm -3am they loaded the bus with an overload of people some were standing as there’s no seating space .I couldn’t board the bus as it’s full and not in good condition.We stood the whole morning with the police that returned the ilula bus that left us and did an over load of passengers and we stayed in Queenstown from yesterday 8pm -14h00 in the afternoon with no communication just silence .
