We booked a ticket online for 2:25pm yesterday and when we arrive at the bus station we asked the staff which bus but couldn’t answer a single answer. When a bus arrive we showed our ticket on our phone but said it was not this bus even if he called that it was the bus for Cancun. The other employee told us that it would be the next one. When the next one arrived. The bus driver was asking for a paper and asked to leave the bus. We didn’t understand what was going on. We asked another tourist and they said that we need to go to another counter to have a printed ticket even if in the confirmation email it said that we can show the ticket
We were stopped on the road 20 km from Chiquila by a strike between states. They put up a road block and we had to sit there for 2 hrs. We were late for our hotel check in and had 2 hrs less time to enjoy Hoblox. This was very dissapointing.
This time from Puebla to Oxaca an older bus but the trip went quite quickly and comfortable. Better not look in front of the bus..takeovers up the mountain can be a bit scary😃…but I guess we had an experienced driver…
The information at the bus station in Cancun about departures (time, location, bus stand and number) was poor and relied on word of mouth, the information on the display screens in the bus station was wrong. We nearly missed our bus. Once on the bus the journey was good.
As an English speaker, I would appreciate more directions, announcements in English. Part of my anxiety whenever I have taken ADO is that I’ll miss my bus or get on the wrong one. The drivers of the buses could be considerably more friendly, in my opinion.
As a non Spanish tourist, it was hard to find the bus. There was no display of which bus goes where. I had to run behind every single driver with my ticket, and few tourists running behind me with the same problem. There were 4 buses leaving at the same time, and no one except the drivers knew which bus went where. A display of destination on the bus would have been helpful for everybody, and saved a lot of chaos
Chaos in the terminal . Spanish speaking and non Spanish speaking travelers had a hard time figuring out when to board when to wait . Both my buses left late 5 to 10 min ,and after checking with the attendant if I could board I was told to wait only to have to run to my bus as it was pulling back . But I didn’t mind so much . It’s not the employee's fault it’s the procedures . As the buses are scheduled to go out everyone with different destinations are packed at the entrance to the buses . If everyone going to Playa could stand on the left and everyone going to Xalapa could stand on the right , as the order of the buses going out that would make it easier. And an enfaces on trip # might help . I can tell the employees are doing their best . Thanks
The driver was excellent. He displayed great skill while operating the bus through difficult traffic. It was obvious he remained focused and aware at all times where other vehicle and hazards were. He continually assessed the roadway for hazards, changing lanes when he needed for other vehicles or moving the busses position within a lane to avoid potholes and hazards. I teach emergency vehicle operations as part of my career, and I noticed many great driving skills with this driver.
My plane arrived earlier than planned, and I asked the person at the counter and the driver if I could take the 5:30pm bus to Playa instead of waiting for the 6pm one. They didn’t even try to accommodate me and just said no, even after I showed them that there was clearly a lot of empty seats on the 5:30 bus. Very poor customer service!
