We arrived in Oaxaca 2.5 hours late. We got stuck in traffic due to the festival happening and we asked to just leave the bus and we were told no. We missed the festival which we purposefully came to Oaxaca to see.
The bus is great. I had some difficulty locating the bus station: there are multiple other stations for different buses and the high ways around the bus station is confusing. Other than that, the bus is reliable, the staff are polite and helpful, the over experience is great!
The bus was late as it was the end of a public holiday so traffic was bad, however it did not take this into account when giving the original predicted destination time
Wonderful bus with great seats, surprised there wasn’t a bathroom or bathroom breaks during the trip however. With that said, all in all, pleasantly surprised!
I would have preferred a longer lunch stop. Among the many options maybe they should have one that is a little more relaxed. A 10 minute pause is not much on a 6 hour trip.
Honestly this was a horrible experience. I will never travel with ADO again after this… if this is the type of service provided for “luxury” I am in disbelief.
The buses are very comfortable and spacious. However, for some reason (the driver only spoke Spanish, so I don't know why) the lights were turned on several times during the ride so sleeping was difficult
Happy with the bus service and ended up arriving early in Oaxaca. A major problem I found was the TVs that we’re clearly broken with only a section of the screen working. Despite this the driver played the audio really loud which made it hard to sleep.
There was a short stop planned. However, presumably because we were running a bit late, we did not stop for long enough to get out of the bus which would have eased my joints.
We then arrived 20 minutes early.
Here’s the problem. I was actually traveling from Xalapa to Oaxaca. Could not get any real help sorting that out online. The only direct busses are overnight. For some reason, I could book a México City to Oaxaca bus, but not one between Mexico City and Xalapa. I did that at the bus station ahead of travel. But a friend in Xalapa showed me that it’s about 3 hours quicker to change busses in Puebla and not go into Mexico City. It took us half an hour with a very helpful ADO agent to get that sorted and changed. I seriously needed some up front help that was not available from your site.
My seat belt was blocked, I could not use it. But the worst thing was that there were no individual screens, as it seems to be the norm in ADO’s trips longer than two hours. No individual earplugs either. So I had to stand films I didn’t choose to see, with a very high volume. I asked the driver to lower the volume, which he did, just a little.
Impressed with this bus. Very comfortable plush seats, plenty of leg room and space to keep carry on bag close by, AC not too cold (as I have read elsewhere). Bus left on time and the process of luggage check in was easy for a traveller who speaks no Spanish. Hold onto your luggage ticket to collect it at the end. Bus arrived 20 mins late but otherwise was a very easy ride.
Very comfortable journey. Only feedback was that it seems a bit silly in this day and age that films get played over the bus speakers when everyone has smart phones and therefore the ability to watch their own content . It's not 1995
The trip was fine. The bus left and arrived on time. The baggage was handled well. The seats were adequately comfortable. The ventilation was poor; the air was warm and stale with condensation on the windows, but it improved somewhat after I asked the driver to turn on the air conditioning. The windows were not clean enough to take good pictures of the scenery.
The seats were not as comfortable as I would have liked and the bus inside was tired and old looking, there was also no wifi, but we got to the destination on time
Really good experience with the Ado Platino from CDMX to OAXACA. Usually I can’t sleep on busses or planes but managed to doze off for a few hours. The seats were so comfy and the overall setup was just meant for a nice quiet bus ride.
Comfortable enough bus. There was no toilet paper and bus driver assured us there was! There were paper hand towels.
We were very late but possibly because of the Dia de Los Muertos celebrations.
Overall a pretty good service. More bathroom breaks, or an actual lunch break would be nice. Bus was a bit smelly, but it could have been a lot worse. Thanks for the ride.
The bus was very spacious and comfortable with a surprisingly clean bathroom. It was a luxury trip by most bus standards but we didn't make any stops on the eight-hour journey, so make sure to bring water and snacks and then relax and enjoy the spectacular views .
Bus was comfortable and clean. Movies were dubbed in Spanish but the majority of travellers were Mexican and we are in mexico. Bus was early! An easy 7 hour trip.
