It was extremely unclear in the booking process that we would be switching from a bus to a van. If there are transfers in the itinerary, it should be extremely clear in the booking process. Second, the driver was not given an updated list of passengers, which delayed the start of the trip.
Bus Driver stopped at the wrong bus stop. i purchased ticket to Newark Penn station but was dropped at new York Manhattan. Bus driver did not listen or care to see my ticket. It took me forever to get to my destination.
The overall experience was easy. However the bus was very dirty. The driver surround and windows were thick with dirt. To make people feel more comfortable attention to detail and cleanliness is needed
I bought a ticket from Washington DC to Newark only to be told to alight at New York. I paid an extra 18usd to EWR TERMINAL 2 on a different shuttle just outside to Pen Station.
Boltbus is can be effective at times in comparison to others. I believe the drivers need to value the importance of time. I take this bus several times and it gets to the destination late.
very dissatisfied. Bus did not have wifi, no phone charging, dirty, uncomfortable seats, very old bus. Bus broke down outside Baltimore on I-95 very dangerous, dark and dangerous. Projected time to repair uncertain..Had to take uber home..
The bus broke down in Baltimore and no one let the passengers know until almost an hour went by. There was no compensation for the 2 hour delay and seat placement was mixed up and uncomfortable
Apart from the delay, boarding was chaotic: people jumped the line as another bus was boarding from the same gate. The ride itself was fine, though the bus should have trash bags and a curtain to keep the sun out.
Got there at 1:43 the bus was gone had to leave at 3pm to New York. Staff was kind enough to let me take that bus, only problem was the power outlets weren’t working and my phone was dead.
Absolutely horrible. My bag was either stolen or misplaced and no one knows where it is. The entire bag was searched, the different bus stations were called, but I have not heard anything as of yet. There’s a profound lack of communication making it difficult to resolve any issue. will not ride again.
I wish it would have been mentioned when purchasing the tickets that the trip will go through multiple stops, as there was misinformation that the trip will go straight to Newark. We had 4 stops, one was unplanned as we picked up random passengers to fill up empty seats without a heads up or explanation.
we arrived to Newark 2hr later than scheduled time. We are awaiting for 1hr to bring new bus from Washington station due to flat tyre on the existing bus there.
The seats were very uncomfortable and was unable to adjust. The outlet was not working. It was extremely cold and the driver would not adjust the temperature.
The drivers was friendly and welcoming. This was my first time taking the bus and was happy with the experience. I would definitely take this bus again recommend to others
Very dangerous driver he was looking through photos on his ipad for +2 hours while driving 1+ hours emails the rest buying on amazon while driving other times he was reading his phone I’ve never seen such a dangerous driver only in the news after accidents
Do something about it please I have videos if requested
I was late for my 7am bus, saw it pull off. I had to pay $20 to get on the 7:30am bus to NYC which was not full. I think a transfer should be free, things happen. I will not use OurBus again due to this.
I boarded Boltbus from Washington to Newark yesterda at exactly 1.45pm. The bus driver was very customer unfriendly and lack interpersonal skills that is required for the job. He was not ready to listen to any explanations concerning my luggage. Very blunt and unapproachable individual. I jad a fustrating experience.
Trip from DC to NY was great and even arrived 10 mins earlier than scheduled but NY to Newark NJ, that’s another story. First I thought I was getting a straight route to Newark Penn Station then I learned that I still need to go to NY before NJ. Then when I arrived at NY, there was no one at the information booth to ask where I can catch my Bus to NJ. It took me a couple of running around asking anyone I could ask where to catch my bus until I finally got the answer from another bus driver which gate to go to. This was because I was coming out from the back of the first bus and our driver was no where to be found by the time I was stepping of the bus. What an experience for someone’s first bus ride since I’ve always driven or flown out before this.
Loved my trip with Ourbus. Driver was courteous, bus had refuse bags and water bottles and WiFi was perfect, left on time and arrived 20 min early. Yeah!
So, I don't have many complaints about the ride from DC to Newark. Traffic will dictate how long it takes; that's just life. My seat partner was extremely obnoxious, though, calling every Foot Locker in northern NJ to buy her boyfriend "fierce-looking" Nikes, then FaceTiming her best buddy so she could see the sneakers. And, either her wireless headphones weren't on wireless mode or my seat buddy was really hard of hearing because I could hear every single rap lyric blaring out of her iPod. The bus driver should have prefaced the trip with a general announcement of, "Hey, please be courteous to everyone else on the bus." Some people need the obvious stated.
My real criticism is of the ride from Newark to DC. The bus driver stated up front, "If you're hot, take a layer of clothing off. If you're cold, put on a jacket. Don't bother me to change the temperature." Then when the bus got going, the door wasn't closed properly and I had an icy wind on me for 4 straight hours!!! I was so, so cold, even with my jacket on, and I could just feel myself getting sick (I'm on Day 4 of being sick, by the way.). Then, when we let people off in Baltimore, the door closed properly and it was warm. For what earthly reason couldn't the bus driver re-close the door earlier so the bus wasn't an ice box? He was inhumane.
The driver was very rude, left the passenger who was standing outside the door yet the bus was still on the station, she was so rude and authoritative treating passenger like little kids
