Be careful. I put down the wrong departure time (1240am vs 1240pm), tried to quickly correct it for 5 passengers and was told they could do nothing. Over 100 bps down the drain. Used Uber with no problem.
Once we found the bus station the rest was easy. We booked on the 10:00am bus but were early. The driver allowed us on the 8:10 bus at no extra charge.
I did not use your services due to the fact that the bus driver told to wait for the next bus, at that time if I did not get on different operating bus company; I would have missed my flight. That's why I was very disappointed with this service.
I booked my ticket with ease, while boarding my inbound flight. The bus stop was easy to find and the timetable was simple to follow. I had a straightforward trip from Heathrow to Gatwick. Having used the tube and the train to make a similar journey before, I would always use the bus, now.
Having been obliged to book onto a very specific bus when needing to travel from Heathrow, I had understood that my ticket would be valid if I used it either up to an hour before or after the booked time. It turned out that I narrowly missed my bus, (partly because there was no information about where the bus stop was, and no person available to ask) and nearly wasn’t allowed onto the next bus half an hour later without changing my booking (at a cost of an additional £6). The bus driver was sympathetic, but, doing his job, he was insisting I made the change before being allowed to make the journey. I was unable to make the change online, though I tried many times. Eventually I did speak to someone on the phone who helpfully changed it for me.When dealing with the uncertainty of the arrival times of flights, and the importance of being able to make journeys to airports with as little anxiety and doubt as possible, I really think there should be more flexibility allowed for using a bought ticket on buses other than at the very specific time.
Heathrow to Gatwick express.
The whole operation seemed pretty chaotic. I paid extra for a changeable ticket and when my flight was an hour early I went to the site to change to an earlier bus, I had to pay 7 pounds to do that. The bus stop was ridiculously hard to find, the map directions link didn’t work, and the bus arrived 30 mins late so almost at the time that I was supposed to be there for my original bus (5 mins difference). I think they should have returned my 7 pounds but was sent off with a flea in my ear. Shoddy service, was embarrassed to be among irate international travellers.
the only thing that suck is the indication where it is, the map is UNCLEAR, also it says stop 4-5 when im reality its Stop10, so confusing and stressing for travelers, make it CLEAR
Megabus service fee/charge is an extortionate 30% + of the fare charge which is £15 megabus charge £21.46 for the same company same trip. Book through Oxford Bus Company ‘The Airline’ instant acknowledgement and can pay online or on the bus but ONLY with credit card on the bus.
Online price was over double the price of paying on the bus. Will never book online for this service again and will write a trip advisor comment pointing out this ripoff.
I missed my bus NX025 because while booking, I didn't realize it was leaving from terminal 5 at scheduled time on my ticket, while I was waiting at terminal 2/3.Every attempt to reach the national express on phone was not successful. I decided to wait for over an hour for next bus. Another 025 driven by one Stanley. This Driver who was so kind showed empathy to my little girl and me, such that all my grudge melted away.
I am appalled, lost my flight. We were told the bus was not going to arrive before 13:50. I had booked it for 13:03. There was no mention of a special timetable for Boxing Day. Awful.
A desk at Heathrow would be useful. I ended up getting information from a friendly Megabus bus driver. The relationship with other bus companies was confusing.
Terrible. There was no mega bus. Apparently it was ‘airline services’ which I consequently missed after waiting for almost an hour. I had to pay for a taxi costing me £90!
Absolutely disgusting and rude service. After waiting hours for the bus, driver was late. The driver checked my ticket and allowed me to board the wrong bus. Once I quickly realized he dropped me in a car park at midnight and said “it’s not that big of a deal”
After waiting another hour, the next driver did not check my ticket at all but struggled to confirm which direction the bus was going. Took several attempts to somewhat confirm the destination.
To not have barcodes and scanners for tickets is just lazy and cheap. Allowing your disinterested drivers to confirm tickets is unsafe for people who are unfamiliar with your terrible service
There was a train strike. Buses were delayed but no information was provided. Had to find an alternate route to Gatwick to catch my flight. One bus refused to take passengers without the right ticket time . He left with 5 people on board . No initiative at all. Will not use this service again.
I bought tickets to travel to Gatwick from Heathrow. The bus arrived 15 minutes late, only for the driver to inform us that his luggage hold is full. I had bags with me, which were well within the allowance included in my ticket. Because I was not able to board the bus, I had to pay for an Uber to get me to the airport, and I almost missed my flight.
Terrible. I booked and payed for my ticket a week in advance to save any hassle. My needs were to get from Heathrow to Gatwick to catch a connecting flight and I booked a bus that would get me there on time. The bus never arrived after I waited an hour and so I had to get a taxi and pay an outrages amount on top of a bus ticket that was redundant. I will not be recommending National Express to anyone.
