The bus was late leaving and extremely late arriving, almost two hours, in fact. The staff were OK but didn't seem to have much respect for the passengers - I felt like an unwelcome guest rather than someone who pays their wages.
Hi, l really enjoy bus trips for sight seeing and going from Bogota to Medellin is a great experience, the buses are comfortable, prices fair and there is usually some sort of entertainment which helps break up the long hours. I have boarded quite a few of Bolivariano buses and l have to say it is the most stressful part of my trips being at the bus terminal, l make sure to get their way ahead of time as there is absolutely no direction or communication from staff, l only get a (dismissive) wave of hands in a general direction with no follow up, my last ticket said gate 25 but there were only 24(??) numbers to be seen and no staff anywhere to assist with this, l was feeling a bit sick with concern that l may not work out where my bus would be in time as l had a flight to catch at my destination, l dont mind and allow for buses arrving late to their desitintion when its such a long trip but would dearly love some clarified direction and present and informative staff at a huge bus terminal (l have a few times seen local people looking confused and even approaching me for assistance), but l endure as l really enjoy bus trips when travelling
Bus from Medellín to Bogota was meant to arrive at 7.30am, and didn’t arrive until AFTER 3pm. Staff gave no explanation whatsoever. Woke up in the middle of the night and the bus was stopped with engine off in the middle of nowhere. Avoid!
The baggage handler was polite and the gentleman inside the terminal at the desk. The bus was initially very cold and then hot through the night. It felt unsafe putting bags in the floor as there were gaps underneath to the next seat which I have found very rare with most companies. The bus left late and then it felt that we were going very quickly through the night. We arrived 2 hours early at a very unsafe and inconvenient time compared to the time that was booked to arrive online. There was no wi fi in the terminal (not really the fault of the bus company in particular) and the only alternative to a long line for booked taxis were the 'off the books' ones that wanted to charge a bomb or walking to the metro.
The only thing is didn’t like was that the in board bathrooms were absolutely filthy. As a result I have been sick with diarrhea. Thank her was no water for me to wash my hands with and urine covered floors were horrendous. I don’t know if this is the Colombian culture to not clean bathrooms but it is something that needs to be looked at and rectified. The reason for the 5 star is the staff went out of their way to help me out as I was a few minutes late due to language barrier. The driver was also very good. All in all a great experience except for the bathroom part.
Person taking our ticket was rude. We printed out our ticket per instructions, but was yelled at for having a copy?
Drive was very rushed! Would have preferred to arrive at 6am, NOT 4am!!! When our host was sleeping and we had no way to let know we were so early. We were surprised to arrive so early, so we were not prepared and had to get our things together. Bus driver was rude and rushing us.
Bus itself was nice and comfortable.
