The bus made random stops outside on the route to let random people without tickets on. The bus drivers sold them emtpy seats and kept the money for themselves. This meant we could not change seats to rows that were empty because they filles up with randos. It also stopped randomly at least every hour to drop off a person or luggage. Bit ridiculous. The bus ride ended up taking 15.5hrs instead of 12hrs
The fact that I've been asked to write a review before we've even arrived is telling. This bus has taken 15+ hours PAST the time we were supposed to arrive. With no toilet paper, stops for food (apart from one at the start 2 hours in) and random unexplained stops for hours at a time. It would be great to be filled in or fed when a 13hr bus ride turns in to a 29hr one. I would've taken a flight if I knew what I was in for.
The estimated travel time is unrealistic given the current road conditions, construction and slow moving heavy traffic.
The trip was 15 hours on white knuckle driving, as the driver tried in vain to stay on schedule. I would rate the journey as dangerous.
The bus should of arrived at half 8 in the morning didn’t arrive until half 12 midday, we paid enough money towards the bus for it to arrive on time would expect that from a local bus service but not such a long journey
The stops at the service stations were way to long and the driver also stopped for various other reasons.
The bus was absolutely freezing. I was wearing a jumper and leggings but was so cold that I didn’t sleep all night. I have taken night buses quite a lot and have always managed to sleep through except on this bus. The seats were also quite narrow but the main problem was the airconditing!!
I booked an overnight bus from Medellin to Cartengena, the bus was due to leave 8:15pm and arrive in Cartagena at 9:30am. Around 11pm the bus stopped and the 2 drivers went to sleep for six hours. We did not arrive at our destination until 5pm the next day
I specifically booked this for wifi use. It didn´t work the entire time. I spoke to another man to help me and he was having the same problem. Two other people I spoke to at the end said theirs worked but very infrequently. Waste of time for a traveller trying to book the next few legs of my journey. Also, the toilet absolutely stunk at the top of the bus out with abut 5hrs to go. And it wasn´t a busy bus so I´m not sure why it did that. I was on a full bus a week before and it was fine
Bus was great but the staff was awful, they played loud music all night, and when asked to turn down the volume they were extremely rude, plus they made us took our luggage ourselves while the guy was standing on the shade
It’s very cold in the bus that during breakfast stop I had to buy a blanket. The bus made 5 stops between Medellin and Cartagena, made the trip even longer. Wish they stated on the itinerary during the booking
We were hugely disappointed with our experience using Expreso Brasilia. We were supposed to be leaving at 8.30am but didn’t depart until 9.15. The bus itself wasn’t clean and was infested with cockroaches which we found to be absolutely disgusting. Halfway through our journey the bus completely broke down and after a few stop start attempts we found ourselves waiting on the roadside for nearly three hours whilst the driver fixed it. Our original estimated arrival time in Cartagena was 10.35pm however we didn’t arrive until 3.00am which caused us problems checking in at our accommodation. We are hugely let down by expreso Brasilia and will never be using the service again or recommending it at all.
