One of the drivers was smoking and I had to knock on the door to ask him to stop smoking as the smoke was coming into the cabin and bothering several of us.
The door between the cabin and the driver was constantly locked and every time that the bus stopped, the driver left and us, the passengers were locked inside the bus. We knocked on the door and asked to go outside, but the driver wasn't there to hear us, so we remained trapped on the bus. This happened 4-5 times during the trip between Bogota-Medellin.
There was a 30-40min lunch stop during which we all had to leave the bus and sit at a restaurant while it was raining and we didn't want to get off the bus.
The plugs under our seats and those behind us didn't work, but we managed to charge our laptops using the plugs on the left side of the bus. The people sitting there were kind enough to let us do so.
The bus left Bogota 20min late.
There was an accident on the way to Medellin, which contributed about 1 hour to our delay. However, our overall delay was 4 hours. The journey took 14 hours instead of 10 hours.
Staff were friendly, was very clean but the journey took almost 12 hours, not the 9 it said online. We may look at alternative travel to come back as honestly it was exhausting. We missed our reservation at a restaurant and were not able to get any food when we arrived as it was so late.
Do not take this line. The toilets weren't working, no water. It was already 2.5 hours late getting into Medellin and they continued to take new passengers from the streets 30 km outside of Medellin. As well, they don't have First Aid kits. An object fell from the storage area above the seats and cut my friend's head. She didn't need stitches but there was nothing they could give us for the blood coming from the cut. If anything worse could happen, they would not know what to do or be prepared.
Bus didn't stop for lunch, no stop for breaks/toilets either. No communication to the passenger if there was gonna be any breaks/lunch stop. Bus is not clean, toilet is very dirty and it stinks
Unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience from Bogota to Medellín. The bus was comfortable at least and played movies.
We had a 6:40am bus scheduled to arrive in Medellin at 4:40pm. We left at 7:00, and we were not even in Manizales by 4:40pm. Which Ian nearly 4 hours away from Medellín. Unsure why this was because at that point there hadn’t been no stand still traffic. It was past Manizales that we hit stand still traffic 3 different times. Traffic is understandable, there is not controlling that, but the fact that we were so far behind prior was frustrating. We at least had enough water. There were no updates or explanations. We arrived in Medellín at 10:40pm.
Bus driver careful in his driving.
Bus : toilet facilities totally unacceptable, lacking soap, hand paper towels, toilet tissue. No flushing availability to toilet bowl.
A disgrace and/and a public health hazard!
Driver advised of same and customer referred to
company HQ to lodge complaint!!
Great seats. Lots of legroom. We left late and reached late. There’s roadwork on in some parts so we lost time there too
I took the bus to experience the Andes, and be up close to the mighty Magdalena. Both objectives fulfilled
The driver was quite “wild”
Very uncomfortable bus. No blankets provided. Sat next to the toilet as we booked last minute, very smelly. Also the Rapido Ochoa sign on bus meant some passengers (like us) couldn’t see out the window. Seatbelt did not work properly. 2 hours late.
Had a very cold night! The AC was blasting. Everybody was covering themselves with jackets.
No English subtitles on the movies and the light wasn’t working so couldn’t read :((
NO food as opposed to Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador so need to bring your own.
On the other hand the seats were comfortable, the TV was working and the bus was clean.
The driver stopped constantly - he added about 3 hours into the journey time - he was stopping to talk to people and drop packages and it make a 9 hour ride over 12 hours - not a good time
