Overall, though, VIA Rail provided a pleasant and relaxing travel experience, and I would definitely consider using it again for future trips across Canada.

The reason I took the train instead of the train is because I cannot sit for longer than 30 to 45 minutes and. I expected the train to have a cafeteria where I could stand safely with my walking cane but I could not do this. There were several 2 seats empty where I could lye down with my legs bent but an aged female train assistant did not allow me. She said she found the owners of the seats and the will come immediately. Y stood on the hall of the train close to a door so as not to disturb human traffic, for several hours and the 2 double sits remained empty (the lady assistant had lied ! and she does not know what compassion is!). Incredible but true. Some passengers helped me with my bags to get down and then another young female assistant help me carry my bags because she realized I was an elder lady with a walking cane. This experience with the help of a few people cheered me up!!!
