My previous experiences of Cruz del Sur were actually very good. However, on this particular trip from Nazcar to Arequipa the bus was CANCELLED (not late as actually stated previously in the survey). I understand that these things happen but we did not no about the cancellation until we arrived at the bus station. We were given no notification of the cancellation earlier than this which is incredibly disappointing and very frustrating. We then had to find and pay for one more nights accommodation and lost a day of our holiday until we could find an alternative bus to get to Arequipa. This could've been avoided if I had received an email or phone call earlier in the day to say the bus was cancelled!
There was an accident with a Cruz del sur Bus just in front of our eyes. The accident occured because of speeding (106km/h).
Also our bus was overtaking very risky other cars and buses. I wont accept anymore this risky and dangerous behaviour and will change the bus company.
Bus is extremely comfortable. We had pillows and blankets to sleep. We were given breakfast on arrival to Arequipa. The station did a great job of storing the luggage before our bus. Overall was a great experience for the price.
Overall, I recommend Cruz del Sur but it is frustrating that they rarely arrive to the destination on time - usually at least 1 hour late. I've also noticed they tend to leave late usually, too (about 15-20 mins at least). The staff however are very nice and the ride itself is full of amenities- they provide a pillow, blanket, snack, tea or soda, and a personal television for every seat for entertainment.
We still havent arrived to Arequipa, the ride was bumpy and we moved from tour seats by people who were meant to be on an earlier bus. We are stuck outside arequipa with no way into the city as taxis are refusing to take people. To get to the city we had to cross a dangerous area to finally catch a little bus and pay even more money to arrive to the city. Not at all happy with the service - should've at least tried to offer an alternative route as there were a lot of people with children left in a dangerous situation.
Clean, comfortable large seats. Friendly service. My only concern is that the driver was driving really fast, I was pretty worried for a wee while going through the mountains. We got to our stop safely at the end.
The speed is from 70 to 35km/h along the travel. Time schedules 9 hour. and at the end 11.5 hours. If I know it takes so long before I booked, I may have different options.
Inacceptable d'avoir autant de retard. Notre hôtel était fermé à cette heure ci et notre taxi nous attendais depuis 23h30. J'attends des dommages merci
We arrived 40 minutes before boarding, for a 4:20 am bus, and the whole bus station was still locked. We had to stand outside the station for 20 minutes, before a security guard eventually cut the locks to get into the place. Even then, there were no bus agents, and we had to keep asking which bus was heading to Arequipa, before finally boarding. It seemed like someone slept in this morning. Additionally the bus arrived in Arequipa 1.75 hours late. We’ve had two other pretty good experiences with Cruz Del Sur, but this one really made things stressful.
The window next to me rattled the whole way, making it impossible to sleep. The coach was very hot and the seats were different from the last trip I took. Maybe it was a different class but had I known when I was booking, I would have booked the better seats. Also the vegetarian option for food was terrible so I did not eat. A packet of Ritz crackers are not a substitute for a sandwich
Les billets achetés prévoyait un départ à 21h30. Or l'horaire était affiché en agence à 22h30 !! Nous étant présentés 3/4 d’heure à l'avance comme recommandé sur le billet électronique, nous avons patienté presque 2 heures pour rien !!!
Second trip on a Cruz del Sur bus. Again, lovely bus, but again it was late departing and *very* late arriving. Should have arrived at 23:30; ended up arriving 01:15. There wasn’t any heavy traffic so the lateness really is unacceptable. Am worried about how late our next Cruz del Sur bus from Puno-Cusco will be.
This time the chargers didn't work, the wifi didn't work, and the worker was sleeping instead of monitoring the air so it kept getting really hot. Eventually I just had to control the air conditioning myself.
Very happy with te service. For example, I had some problems with booking online... I sent a mail... after 10 minutes I got an answer. But in the mean time I was able to book. The person of the service saw that too, but she gave me anyway a booking discount for my next trip. Super service !!
The bus is amazingly COMFORTABLE. The on board STAFF are mostly GREAT. It's SAFE, they have a lot of safety precautions in place. It seems all the Peruvian bus companies aren't great with timeliness. The buses are generally clean. The bus STATIONS are HORRIBLY DISGUSTING.
Calidad-precio me decepcionó tremendamente
