Travel to Lacois was fine, the return trip from Lancois to Salvador on 27/2/23 was delayed by 3 hours. Furthermore, within an hour in our journey back to Salvador, the bus broke down which delayed an extra 2 hours. We were meant to arrive at Salvador at 9pm but got there at 1.40am.
The staff and driver did not have any updates for passengers, they did not know what was happening. We kept asking them but they did not help. This added to the frustration of the unacceptable delay.
Very comfortable bus ride. The air conditioning made it cold, but that is better than being too hot. It was raining very heavily, which might have caused the lateness. I wish the wifi allowed for internet connection. But overall a very good experience.
Drop off location on ticket was not the same as the drop off location in Lencois. The bus driver didn't even know where the location stated on the ticket was. This caused a change of plans that impacted me negatively.
There needs to be extra covid measures in place. Staff was very lax and didn’t screen passengers at all. We had to print paper tickets which was hard to find a printer in advance. When we arrived we handed in our tickets and we’re told we needed a card. Went upstairs and paid $6 for a card just to walk to bus, then we gave in our ticket.
The bus was comfortable, but getting to the bus was a mess. When we arrived, their systems were shutdown and we had to wait for an hour to retrieve our tickets. We also had to pay extra to receive a card to exit out of the station to get to the platform. I thought that was absolutely ridiculous.
I missed my bus and they let me transfer my ticket for no extra cost. Very impressed as this would not happen in the UK. One thing- about the air conditioner: everyone warns you online about how cold it is on the busses and it's true. Could they turn it down so passengers don't have to wear jumpers and scarves?
