Depot staff in London mishandled passenger disputes and didn't prioritise a full bus anxious to depart especially as it was intensely hot. Journey communications were non existent despite two intermediate stops. The bus lacked recharging points and reading lights.
The pick ups and journey were fine. When myself and my brother got on at Birmingham, we were asked where we were going and I told him Liverpool. We were dropped off at Edgelane Drive Drive bus stop. We were unaware that that there were 2 drop offs in Liverpool as the driver did not advise us of when we got on the coach. Myself and 2 other passengers thought the same. We asked the driver to get our luggage out of the hold and he told us that we would have to get our luggage out and he was not going to climb in there! It was obvious that I had a plaster cast on and my brother disabled with a walking stick. I had to climb right inside the hold to get our cases. He was very rude! I very much doubt if I will use National Express again.
Because the bus was late being dropped off at the designated stop was impossible because there is no bus service after midnight so we had to be dropped off at Liverpool one where all buses were now off service for 6 lhours so we had to buy taxi ride at 8 pounds fifty as i use a bus pass this was a dramatic loss of money for me only because the bus driver refused to drop me on the way past my house which is a short walk from botanic gardens edge lane he refused when it would have taken a few seconds to help me get home easily by dropping me off because the bus delay had removed my bus ride options i am angry at this stubborn attitude in face of a situation created by the lateness of the bus
the ride was smooth, prompt and very comfortable. my only complaint is the immense odour of the toilet which wafted through to the rest of the bus the moment someone opened its door. pls give your toilet a good clean!! simply spraying air freshener won't help. that said, i would definitely travel with busbud again.
