Attendant was excellent.
1st driver was slow and steady and got lost getting in and out of Juliaca bus station.
2nd driver was ridiculously aggressive trying to overtake when it was obvious there wasn’t room so had to keep slamming the brakes on. We hit a number of speed bumps really hard as he was going too fast and braking too late. Really uncomfortable for the passengers when every stop is an emergency one and you’re thrown up out of your seat due to such poor driving.
really disappointing when our previous experience with Cruz del Sur has been excellent.
I love riding with Cruz del Sur. However the food was just a croissant with a slice of bologna, no condiment, (so extremely dry) and a slice of sweet bread. Further the bus was REALLY hot for the second half.
Good drivers today! Nice seats. Unfortunately the hostess was hardly present. No towall at the entrance so the floor in the bus got wet. No attention during the 7 hours trip. No stop to stretch legs and buy some food and water. We only got a sandwhich, cake and tea at 08.30 hrs..
Es hat gestinckt nach Urin im hinteren Teil des Busses auf der 2. Etage die ganze Zeit. Sogar in der Toilette war der Geruch nicht so stark, wie im Buss. Es gab keine Information auf Englisch.
I paid extra for seat 1-10 on the bottom in order to be able to sleep. However, water was dripping all over my seat from the window and ceiling, so I had to move upstairs where the seats don't recline and there is more noise, and more people. I did not sleep as a result.
This company has everything in order to create a great travel experience. They are profesional and the travel feels safe. But, on both on my journeys now, they have the same problem. They can’t figure out how to use the aircon/heater in a way that makes the passengers feel comfortable. My last trip to Cusco was a nightmare, with the heater on and no understanding of why we don’t need the bus to be 30+ degrees. And when they finally turned the heater of, they put on the aircon that made us freeze. Why not something in between??
Everything was fine apart of the man who take care o passangers and the guys from ckeckin ..they should learn a little bit of english. Not all the people from the bus know spanish
I’ve travelled with CDS several times but I was scared by the reckless driver today. Everything about the bus etc was great except the driver was too fast, overtaking in dangerous places and a couple of times I feared we would overturn.
Comfortable seats. Small snack provided plus a drink.
We booked late so had seats at rear of bus 2nd floor...a bit more swaying there. Recommend 1st floor, mid bus seating.
Overall the bus was in great condition and one of the best I've taken in South American. The booking said 'hot meal' however and this was not the case. It was merely a ham breadroll and some dry cake for the entire journey. We stopped at a small tourist trap for 5 minutes however everything was over-priced.
No milk option with the beverage. Even condensed milk would be better than nothing.
We were promised that there were USB ports on the bus for our phones, they were all broken, we arrived in Cusco with Dead phones. The staff was surely and short tempered. The driver lost control of the bus several times and at one point, we fishtailed across the road several times before regaining control, it was very scary. They did pull over after and changed drivers, the second driver was much better. In 30 years of travel this was my worst travel experience. Seats were comfortable, and we did arrive close to on time, alive. I guess that is two stars...
Lots of roadblocks (as the result of a strike by local people) during the trip, starting 1.5 hours before Cuzco. Apperently, according to the police, the were announced. Still Cruz del Sur left Puno, when I think they should at least told us about the strike and let us decide for ourselves if we still wanted to leave Puno. Secondly, at the roadblocks, Cruz del sur was the only company who didn't gave us the luggage from the compartiment down in the bus, therefore inhibiting us to leave and find a cab for instance. Worst policy!
We had a delay of 12 hours because of a strike on the streets. We sat there nearly three hours befor we got any information about the reason why we are standing. At all we didn't get many informations from the crew. And we were not allowed to get our luggage, not even to get something out of it.
Very very comfortable and beautiful. Simple, small, and yummy lunch. Bus stopped and supported local venders which was cool!! Only problem.. arrived 2 hours late and I missed my $20 tour by an hour. Book accordingly!
Overall it was a good experience. We enjoyed the bus amenities very much. Only the bad things was lack of a hot meal (which was included in our tickets) and 1 hour extra of the time of arrival.
rather old bus, very uncomfortable due to bad suspension, unfriendly crew, bus heated up way too much, terrible driving style. really dissatisfied this time with Cruz del sur.
I am very disappointed to be paying for an upper company which offers personal TV that doesn't work. Don't expect to be able to watch a movie at your ease. Out of four different trips tvs didn't work twice. What a shame, I should be partly refunded !
1. It was my 2nd and last trip with your Company. 2. No water was offered for 7 hours. 3. It was super cold on board, which makes no sense. 4. Hot coffe was offered only for 10 people. 5. Snack was offered to all people , but not to my wife. That was terrible, as no food for my wife for 7 hours. 6. Huge metal box dropped on a floor close to toilet, which can damage passengers, that means it was not properly fixed. 8. There was no wifi on board. 9. Blankets were taken from all passengers 1 hour prior to arrival. It was very cold on board and makes no sense to take warm blankets. Terrible.
Very good bus company. Even blankets, a pillow and a tv! My boyfriend and I both did not liked the snack that was provided. The bread was really, really dry. Luckily we had our own lunch :)
