The bus was comfortable, but more information for non Spanish speakers is needed. For instance, we did not know we changed buses half way through the journey. Why say the bus arrives at 2.30pm, when there is a three hour wait for customs at the border which is bound to make it late. Produce a multilingual leaflet with all information on it please!
Prior to the trip I was a little apprehensive about the journey because my Spanish language skills are pretty poor/ non exsistent. But we arrived at the departure terminal in Valparaíso by Taxi, our driver gave us a few pointers on which stop the it would park at, and assisted us with our 2 cases. The bus arrived at 07.40 and started loading the luggage whilst we did didn’t understand all what was going on the drivers indicated what we should do and where to sit and it was punctual in getting away at 8.00.
During the journey we were given 2 boxed sets of snacks and the opportunity for a hot drink inthe morning. The drivers guided us during the customs process which took about 45 minutes.
The journey itself was spectacular and well worth the extra time compared to flying.
So I had no need to be apprehensive about the Journey it was faultless and very enjoyable
First CATA insisted the passage from Valparaiso to Mendoza was closed, try other buses, such Andesmar, were leaving to Mendoza. The representative at the booth insisted she could not help bc our tickets were purchased online. She was helping people who had tickets by getting their number to contact them when another bus was leaving, but did not offer us this. After we bought tickets for an overnight trip through Andesmar, we coincidentally ran into the woman/representative again, and she happened to tell us there would be an 11:30am bus. We were overjoyed, however we were forced to wait until after noon as the bus was late. All in all this was a terrible inconvenience. We returned our Andesmar tickets and were refunded less 30%. This is a waste of time and money. I'm not using them again.
