Everything was great we were making great time and we’re supposed to arrive on time. We had to take a detour due to a road closure by the RCMP. The bus driver found a quick detour and we arrived safely.
The seats were pleasantly comfortable and the bus had a smooth ride. The driver left within 5 minutes of the scheduled departure after giving people time to order food at Tim Hortons. Overall a significantly better experience than my last bus ride with another company
Bud driver said we will leave red deer in 5 minutes so I went to fill my water bottle and came back and he had left. I tried calling Cold Shot multiple times and no one answered the phone. Because of this I missed I almost missed my flight definitely left a bad taste in my mouth and wouldn’t use Cold Shot as my first choice for method of transportation.
The departure time stated 9:15 and that is when the buss arrived. The bus driver had a ten minute break so our departure was actually 9:25. I do not begrudge the driver having a break but I do suggest the advertised bus schedule reflect the arrival/departure time of the station so passengers like me that wonder if they had the wrong address don’t almost leave to another address thinking they are missing the bus. The bus stop is not marked so the description needs to be better than “Tim Horton’s Orr Drive”. If I did not ask strangers I would have been on the other side and due to traffic noise not have heard the bus pull up then would have been totally unaware that the bus came and went. So a description of the buss pulling up next to the drive through window/lane would have been much less stressful. I am not from Red Deer and did not know this procedure at all and found the lack of clarification stressful. No bus before 9:15 for a stated departure at 9:15 added to the stress and confusion of where exactly to wait for the bus.
I actually went a day early for my bus. The bus driver there at the time asked multiple times if I was drunk and was very condescending -despite my sisters' reassurances. I had to go to the hospital for treatment/iv that week so admittedly was not doing well, but the driver was not at all considerate. I am grateful he was not my driver, as usually they are nice. Even if someone was possibly drunk it would not be appropriate to treat them so unkindly.
The Bus driver was great! Awesome sense of humour, and calm. There was an awful snow storm. Highway at Ponoka closed so rerouted to get us to Edmonton. He handled all of it beautifully and care for riders was awesome! Will definitely use this bus service again.
