I was very impressed with the bus ride. Calgary to Vancouver is long but the view was amazing! The bus was set up well, was comfortable and I had charging ports for my phone. There were plenty of stops to stretch my legs and the bus driver always let us know how long we were stopping for.
Good value for money though the bus was more than an hour late to the Banff bus-stop - there was no text or email to inform passengers of the late arrival. We had to wait outside when it was -28 degrees so could have been better with some regular updates or updates of any kind. No distancing in place which wasn’t a problem but there was a guy continually coughing at the back of the bus - could have had temperature check before getting on the bus to assure the safety of all those traveling.
Well, this isn't really the fault of rider express. However, we were supposed to arrive in van at 8pm on Thursday evening. It is now currently 7am Friday morning and we are all still stuck on the bus outside of hope. There has been a major accident on the hiway ahead and we've been sitting here for literally 10 hours with not much info about what's going on. Driver has been a champ, bus is still warm and toilet still operates. Just wish there were some emergency waters or something for situations like this
Bus was late due to so much unexpected road maintenance, diversions and staggered lane feeder systems in place and so not the fault of the drivers in anyway. All Drivers were professional and polite.
The trip was great! The driver and his assistant were incredibly helpful the entire time. The bus was on time. My bags were well taken care or and I felt that I was as well. Great service and great trip! Thanks very much! :D
It would have been useful had the driver informed everyone over the communication system, without each individual having to ask, of the minimum time each stop would be, so that one could get a little food, a fully equipped toilet, etc. Without that, I was afraid to leave the bus for fear of getting left behind.
Very good experience, our driver was friendly, punctual and organized. Big step up from greyhound. Not so many stops and consistency in driving. I was actually impressed
Bus driver was super good. Except few customers making fun of him due to his accent but the driver was very patient and mature, ignored them and focussed on bringing the bus on time including those soft racist clients...bus was super good...keep it up...very professional driver...
Bus driver was great bus very clean they follow all Covid procedures and take it seriously rider Express is a great company good price have taken rider Express a few times and always impressed thanks
The bus on Jan 5th (Van to Calgary) and was really great (both drivers and the bus itself), but the return bus on 10th was not up to the 5th standards. The bus had mechanical issues and both drivers were not as cordial as the Sunday ones.
From reception ( cashier) to drivers , they are all exceptional, very helpful and accomodating espc.when u have questions or concern.! We enjoyed the beautiful ride ( Riders Bus brand new and super clean) Ron is our driver and he keeps everybody entertained! He should be on a comedian show.!lol...Mike is very helpful as well, we make sure he keep us posted about the stops, etch! When i was on our trip ive told my friends and family how riders express bus is and they are looking forward to take the ride.Salute to u all!
Comfortable buses and warm, friendly staff but
a bit unorganized. Despite buying my ticket online, I was asked to register in office after waiting in line to get on the bus. Consider giving people more info as they arrive to catch the bus rather than making them wait in line just to tell them to go to the office.
Staff was good, bus driver from Calgary to Kamloops was wonderful very focus on his job and informs passengers before arriving at every destination. I would take it again. It’s very affordable.
I was on the first Rider Express trip from Vancouver to Calgary approx. 16 months ago when they picked up where the horrible Greyhound left off. Rider Express has come a long way to servicing Alberta and BC in a better style than Greyhound ever could and did. The bus is super immaculate, the guests appear to be of a different calibre as well - better, the drivers solid and capable. Instead of getting dropped off at an obscure Road King in the middle of nowhere in Calgary on that first trip, Rider Express now has an office at Westbrook Mall which is a very logical drop point; near the skytrain, cabs easy to call and Uber. The buses have overhead bins that close, unlimited wi-fi that doesn't cut out every 5 minutes and a/c plug in's for everyone. The bathroom - clean beyond clean!
Ron was an amazing Driver. Gave us a tour guide like experience as we traveled through the Rockies. 5 stars does not come close to the rating he and this bus company deserve. Highly, highly recommend to tourists and travelers alike.
I had a very nice experience but while waiting for new persengers to board the driver should keep the door locked. I got so cold and could also see others covering up. Otherwise the service was awesome.
Despite leaving Calgary late, we arrived to Vancouver 1 hour early (there were few drop offs along the route). The staff were friendly, helpful and professional (safe driving). I would take this bus again and will recommend it to friends--the views were incredibly.
