The weather might still be giving you winter holidays vibes, but the end of the academic year is approaching fast. If you’re a student, you’re probably starting to think about what your summer will be like. When it comes to good summer jobs, we all know the early bird gets the worm.

Busbud is the best way to easily search, compare and book intercity bus tickets worldwide. Our Customer Experience team goes way further than customer service. We are constantly in touch with our users across the world, from South Africa to Poland, and we face new challenges every day. Our Customer Experience team is also in charge of reporting bugs, customer complaints, and booking improvements to our product and tech teams, while helping users get the experience they expect. Our ultimate goal, is to make sure everyone who books on Busbud is happy at the end of the day.

1. Hands-on Experience

At Busbud, you’ll get real, hands-on experience and develop valuable and marketable skills. You’ll get to experience and provide support throughout the whole Busbud booking process, from the search results, to ticketing, to boarding procedures. You’ll also work closely with different teams to get a taste of our entire business model.

While we expect everyone to commit to their responsibilities, we have each other’s backs and your manager will always be open to working with you to maximise your potential and productivity. On weekends and evenings, you have the liberty of working from home, and as a team, we work together to make sure our schedules work for everyone and the company.

Every member of our Customer Experience team moved to Montreal relatively recently, speaks at least 3 languages, and comes from a different culture and background. Why Busbud?

I loved the story, and the idea behind it: A traveller creating a website to help other travellers! I visited the website and it was so well designed, simple and functional that I felt compelled to be a part of this amazing project.

What is the best thing about working here?

Tech tools: there are many tech tools out there used by companies and I was able to learn a lot about the what’s used in the market. Busbud offers you flexibility to accommodate your schedule based on their needs but also on yours. Your teammates are always nice and willing to help out and cover you if you want to take a day/weekend off.

What do you enjoy the most about being part of the Customer Experience Team?  

The team encourages you to be ingenious, inventive and creative. In my case as a statistician, I was also given the opportunity to work on a project analyzing our team metrics and create reports so we could easily access this information and interpret it correctly.

Why Busbud?

I wanted to be part of the startup world in Montreal and also be part of a team where the product had immense potential. I applied at the end of Spring 2016 because I knew a team member and had heard only great things. I wanted to contribute to a fast growing homegrown startup and I’m very happy with my decision. The product was also something that I strongly believed in, especially that I studied in the environment field, and riding bus is the most sustainable way of travelling.

What is the best thing about working here?

I learned how to be adaptable. Being in a startup means that things move quickly and that forces you to learn how to follow the same rhythm and speed. I also always look forward to the team lunches 😁🙌

What do you enjoy the most about being part of the Customer Experience Team?  

I love being able to help customers with their travels. The Customer Experience Team really makes a difference in helping bus travellers around the world. It is a very gratifying feeling.

What we expect?

  • Fluency in English and at least one of the following: Portuguese, Spanish. French is an asset.
  • A super-helpful attitude: Going the extra step to make sure our mission is complete.
  • Reliability: As a small team, we count on you to put in your part of the work. You will be required to work on some evenings and weekends.
  • Being able to work independently, and being a natural problem solver.
